"Well...what if you are?" She asked. She approached the glass door marked RECEPTION, and at the front desk, the clerk shoved a registration card across at her, signing in, Electa showed him some ID--a fake Ohio driver's license--and paid in cash. Their room was on the ground floor.

"What if I'm n-not." He replied,seeming to be ready to argue but clearly wouldn't be good at an arguement.

She shrugged. She wasn't entirely sure. When they reached number 112, Electa unlocked the door, swung it open, and groped for the lights. A motel room just like hundreds of others she'd stayed in came into view--the two large double beds, the round table, the TV hanging from the painted concrete wall.

Vexin held his string backpack close,not really wanting to put it down anywhere. He looked around and his eyes seemed to remember where he'd lived and where sad.

She dropped her bag onto the table and shut the door after Vexin. She looked out the window at the sky and really, really didn't like the menacing dark gray clouds closing in.

Vexin didn't notice the clouds,used to changes in the sky enough to where he no longer really payed it to much mind.If he did it was rare,like his smile.Rare. He seemed to be satisfied with placing himself out of the way and...in a corner.

Electa turned on the TV. Lying down on one of the beds with her forearm crossed under her head, she gazed at the screen, not really watching it, feeling bad. Vexin had left his family and now he was over a thousand miles away from his home and might never see his parents again...with only some girl he hated for company.

And things had been bad before,from hittings and things to now he had gotten shot in the arm. He just sat in the corner,not wanting to really do much. He just hid there,legs close to his chest and arms around his legs as he placed his forehead to his knees. He rocked himself a bit,just wishing he could just go back to cuddle in his corner back home with his science book. But now he clung to that metal band he had,from his passed brother.

A commercial came on, and Electa was staring at a familiar pearl-white church. "Do you feel despairing?" Intoned the voiceover. She quickly changed it. Another local news program, this one about a shortage of hospital beds in Knoxville

Vexin glanced up at her,for a second just admiring her but then yanking his eyes back down. 'She's still Gun girl....that could kill you in a second...' He then hugged his legs tighter and rocked a bit more side to side.
