Jessie was spooked. Those...things were once kids like them and everyone else? They went quiet. Many thoughts filled their head. They could become one of those things if they weren't careful. For a while, Jessie didn't say anything, wanting to let the grave mood pass before they spoke again.

"...Even though I doubt that any of us will be able to leave this place," Jessie's voice hushed down to a whisper, "I want to be able to leave this place and see the outside again. I already miss it." They paused.

"...I killed someone who was beating me and someone I cared about, and the only reward I get for doing so was getting stuck in here for the rest of my life," they mumbled.
