I'm happy to keep hatchlings until they've grown up, and when they're adults then I'd ask if you would collect them within a couple days, because I do auto-feed my pets (which costs money!) and I also have a lot of projects which take up stable space (unless you've warned beforehand that you're unable to collect for a while)
