"What is dating?" I press on, curious about all the new words. I angle my lifted ear so that I can hear him better. He seems a little nervous, I wonder why.

I'd feel a bit more weird, explaining the topic further, but i decide to explain it anyways. "Dating is doing something with someone you love, the one you want to be together with forever..."

This all seems so confusing to me. I get out of my seat awkwardly, not sure how I should react.
"Well I guess I can't see your point... The difference between family love and friend love, I can't tell... Unless you would describe to me clearer, but..." I sigh, figuring the attempt was hopeless. "I am going back down to the Ocean now, if you want you can follow me." I say simply, heading to the door. I got my other flower crown too wet so I would have to make a new one and find a new feather.

My insides are screaming at me, for making her confused. I'd sigh, looking at her. "I think i will let you have your space." I'd say, continuing to bite on my sandwich.

My ears twitch in response to his response. For some reason that was not the answer I was looking for. I exit, silently closing the door behind me to come face to face with Gray. I freeze, unsure of what to do.
"Sorry, I guess that was sudden." He said, taking a step back. I nod, not wanting to do anything that would scare him off.
"I want to show you something." Gray turns and glides down over the cliff, so I follow quickly to see where he is going. I follow him until he stops near the beach brush where I see a baby sand piper soggy and alone, crying for it's mama.
"Oh no!" I gasp, kneeling near it and stroking it's head. "Is it going to be-" The chic stopped peeping and collapsed on the ground, starved to death. My eyes glaze over with tears and I rise to my feet.
"It died." Gray says, hands in his pockets. I step back and look at him, so tall, so strong. He could really hurt me if he wanted to... But why talk to me now?
"Is that what you wanted to show me?" I ask softly, taking another cautious step back. Gray doesn't answer, he stares at the dead chic emotionless on the outside. I wonder if this is his way of trying to tell me something.
"Gray, I want to help..." I whisper, turning over some sand with my toes. Then it occurs to me, if Jace wouldn't tell me, maybe Gray would. "What is dating?" I ask out of the blue, to which Gray jolts, looking at me with an expression close to horror.
"Umm?" He was confused, deeply confused.
"Well... It was brought up in conversation and I... Well..." I sigh in embarrassment, hanging my head and taking another step backward. "I should be heading-"
"Bonding." Gray says, "Hugs, kissing, touch, closeness, care, surprises, and protection." And with that he takes to the sky, leaving nothing in his place. Only his footprints remain. I am lost for words, I do not recognize that Gray.

I'd sigh, looking over my empty plate. I have something sitting at the pit of my stomach...like something didn't feel right. Was i not meant for her? Was i not meant for this world? My expression would darken. Maybe i shouldn't of helped? No, than that wouldn't mean she would survive. I'd continue to roll in thoughts, ignoring the outside world and focusing on my inner thoughts.

I sit down in the sand, picking up a stick and drawing something unknown to me. Those things Gray said, I want to know. I want to learn... I sigh, flopping onto my back and staring at the sky. What is the great thing called love this world is hiding from me? When will it show me the answers? I fold my paws over my belly, watching the clouds. Maybe if I stay here long enough it will send me an answer.

I'd feel a idea coming on, my face lightening up. Wait! Where is that inscription? I'd shuffle around my pictures and find the transcription. Yes! The legend of star crossed lovers...in her language. Since this won't be able to explain, maybe i should also write in her language to explain it easier. I'd grab a piece of paper with her lettering of her language to English. I'd begin to write, then finish a few minutes later. "The Dictionary definition." I'd walk out of the house, then to where April is. "Hey...."

Still with the thoughts in mind, my ears perk up and I sit up to see Jace.
"Jace? You are my sign from the universe?" I ask, giggling. I prop myself up with my hands in the sand behind my back and look at him upsidedown since his is behind me. I send him a goofy smile, and then notice he is holding something. "What is that?"

I'd sigh, handing her the three papers, the translation, the transcription, and the thing i wrote. "This is the best way i can explain love. In your language, read them all, then you will understand." I'd turn around and getting ready to leave.
