Without D Kate most likely would've been dead by now

And if D hadn't had a reason to keep safe and stay inside that room she would have ever so innocently gotten herself killed.

Which Kate probably wouldn't even hear about

And if D even had some sort of after for her as normal dragons did then she'd realize no one cared about her life or death and despite no one would ever know,it would make her actually very sad.But right now she was rather happy,tail wagging and breathing life.

And now D did have someone that cared

And for years that's all she'd ever wanted,someone to care.Even as a friend but Kate had given her so much more that it was a litrall miracle to her.

D was also a miracle to Kate. It had been so long since she had a friend, let alone someone that loved her in return.

Sometimes fate seemed to have it's ways,not giving people others until a certain point,as if knowing it would all work out and would be like a perfect puzzle.

Fate is weird that way for sure. As if everything that happened was for a reason, that it would work out eventually

And it could be painful for years until things where just right.
