Jason wouldn't blame him,it reminded him of the horrific screeches of the nightmareish creatures back in the dragon realm. But he ran toward it as Ash had said, forcing his mind to think of it as with the Nightflares, but he still angled to keep between the dog and Puck just in case as he carefully ran, keeping Puck cleanly close.

The dog hurtling over their heads, and it was possible to feel the crushing impact as the Grim hit the spot where the duo had been standing.

"Run!" Ash yelled at them. "You have to get off the cemetery grounds, now!"

Behind them, the Grim roared in fury and attacked.

Jason didn't hesitate. He held tight to Pucks hand and set to running to get off the grounds, though he worried about Ash. He worried as a friend for his safety.

A hail of glittering shards erupted from Ashs direction, pelting the Grim with frozen daggers and stinging bits of ice. They shattered or glanced off the Grims muscular hide, not injuring the beast, but it was enough to buy them a few seconds head start. Ash fled down the aisles, dashing between crypts, ducking around statues of angels and saints, the hot breath of the Grim at their heels. If they had been in the open, the monstrous dog wouldve run them down and used them as chew toys in three seconds flat, but the narrow streets and tight corridors slowed it down a bit. They zigzagged their way through the cemetery, staying one step ahead of the Grim, until the white concrete wall that marked the cemetery grounds loomed ahead of them.

Ash reached the barrier first and whirled to help me them, positioning himself as a step stool.

Normally,Jason wouldn't have liked the idea of Ash doing that, making himself a step stool like that, but at the moment he wasn't about to be stubborn and argue when they where about to deal with a huge beast. He carefully unfurled his wings and used them to keep most his weight off Ash and help himself pull Puck up quickly after. He let his tail shift fully out and threw it back to help pull Ash up too.

Ash leaped straight up, like he was attached to wires, and landed on the edge.

A deafening howl made Puck's ears ring, and he made the mistake of looking back. The Grims open maw filled his vision, breath hot and foul in his face, spraying him with drool. Ash yanked the duo backward just as those jaws snapped inches from Puck's face, and they fell off the wall together, hitting the ground with a jolt that knocked the breath from Puck's lungs.

The hit to the ground shocked Jason enough to where he couldn't think a moment, tail and wings retracting quickly with gritted teeth. He pulled to a sit, looking up despite a ringing in his head and looked to make sure the other two where okay before he studied the massive shocking pain in his left leg.

The Grim crouched at the top of the wall, glaring at Puck, fangs bared and shiny in the moonlight. For a moment, Ash was sure it would leap down and rip them all to pieces. But, with one last snarl, it turned and dropped out of sight, back to the cemetery it was bound to protect. Ash let out a breath and let his head fall back to the grass. "I will say this," he panted, his eyes closed and his face turned toward the sky. "Being with you is never boring."

Jason flopped back to his back and didn't even bother to move his left leg,let alone if he still could with the shooting pain clawing from behind the knee and outward up his thigh a bit and down his calve. But he was glad to have his leg,and he was glad neither Puck nor Ash had gotten hurt,or at least majorly 'oh gosh I'm dying' hurt. He wasn't about to watch either of them come any closer to death as they each already had.Puck the bullet and Ash the iron-sickness.

Wiping disgusting Grim drool off his face, Puck glanced down at Jason. He suddenly realized how close they were. Puck was practically lying on top of him, their faces inches apart.
