He could probably get closer.

He tried.

"OW."

He realizes a moment too late he's stepped on an oread's paw. Her eyes are open, staring at him in mild annoyance- they glimmer cloudily in the dark.

He stepped back, blurting out an apology.

She sits up, casting him an annoyed glance. She's a mushroom oread, apparently, because as she wakes mushrooms along her body begin to glow pale golds and reds.

He went on all fours, taking a reptillian posture as he backed up.

The other oreads begin to stir. Soon, the room is alight with sleepy oreads, in gently warm hues of red, orange, and yellow.

He growled softly as his partly-see-through body took a more transparent look, letting the oreads to see his internal bones and organs.

Ew.

Night has fallen outside, so the only light is the glowing of the oreads' fungi. Unlike the surrounding shrooms, the ones on the oreads themselves do give off light.

The oread he stepped on stands and stretches. She's quite large compared to his companions- she's broad-shouldered with weightier limbs. Her hair is mostly black, but there's a blue streak in it, tied into a braid that reaches down to her hips. Her hair obscures her left eye, and her right eye seems odd for a reason he can't quite figure out. There's wing-like structures on her back, with wiry veins arching through them. She's covered in tiny brown mushrooms, with larger, darker flat mushrooms dotted throughout.
