Kate had no idea, just that it was a lab that held a bunch of different creatures like D. Not fully human.

Plenty of them where only a forth to half human but others where animals mixed up and things like that.But a few human-dog hybrids,most failed and ... exterminated,and often they had to find creatures out in the world from almost everywhere that where like D and 4HD,because they often tried to breed what they had but often due to sorrow and stressful conditions the offspring didn't survive. Or,like with 4HD and D-H-3,they only had two of the same gender and couldn't work that out without making a whole new hybrid.

Kate never realized how unsuccessful the lab was. She had always thought that they had always just found beings like D

Well,she'd find out if she found out that D was planning on the side to maybe try to see if she could get 4HD out soon.

Kate would insist on going and not take no for an answer.

That's if D's mumbling to herself became loud enough,but having lived in a lab she'd learned to be very quiet about what she planned,such as how she had escaped.

And so Kate most likely wouldn't hear. But then she would freak out if she saw D had disappeared

D took that into consideration a few times,but she thought maybe she'd try to find a way to say she was leaving only for a bit without saying where,but she didn't know how to write so she couldn't write a note.

So basically, she was in trouble unless she could find a way besides writing. Kate was leaning against the sink, waiting for her throat to feel better

D had her elbows to the counter as she thought with her chin in her hands,tail swishing side to side in a thoughtful beat. She couldn't think of any way to say it but verbal,but she didn't know how to use the words in a way that wouldn't worry Kate.
