"Good question. Now, you may think you can tell by scale color, but no, it's personality. Water dragons are calm and wait before attacking. Fire dragons, however, have a temper and are mostly angered easily. Earth dragons are kind, but will attack if you bother them or their plants. Ice dragons are cool, they don't care much. Rock dragons are sturdy and hard. Air dragons are dreamers. Light dragons are social and love other creatures. Shadow dragons are more alone-lovers."
