Douglas's eyes twitched, "I knew it. I knew choosing to get captured was a bad idea and Skipper wouldn't listen."
Selkie coughed and panted.
"Get my bag." Douglas said as a wave of nasia hit him, "on second thought you can handle him for a while."

"I planned to. Selkie, lie down if you will." the echidna told him.

Selkie gritted his teeth and did so the injury throbbing.

Kaladin felt for anything broken. He silently hoped it was something he could treat....

Where the beam hit Selkie's ribs they were cracked but not broken. Selkie winced when Kaladin touched that area but he held still.

"S-sorry..." Kaladin said, pulling away. Focus. Stop the bleeding first, get him calm. Simple, right? He told himself.

Selkie was calm or at least trying to stay calm.
"How bad?" Douglas looked at Kaladin.

"Nothing's broken, as far as I can tell. Unfortunately, His side's hurting again, he's quite bruised, I'm positive he has more splinters, and I'm working on the bleeding." Kaladin reported.

Douglas nodded, "Bind the ribs then chances are they are cracked and will hurt until they are fully healed. Green ointment on the shelf has stuff in it that can help with splinters."

"Thank you," He said, following those instructions when he was done securing the bandages around the otter's wounds.
