Rhia is still in her cell, but pretends not to hear the noise.

They were coming. Vic shot up in bed, her heart beating so hard she was convinced it was trying to pound its way free from her chest. A wave of murmured wails and panicked cries circled the prison, ending with Jack, who seemed to choke back a sob.

The darkness pressed against them like a coffin lining, and Victoria's light-starved eyes played tricks. Strange figures pulled themselves from the black cloth, always in the corner of her vision, stretching out for her with decaying fingers and hollow eyes. She expected to feel bony hands grab her arm any second, a cold embrace dragging her into the pit.

The wail of the siren cut out, and at the same time a thousand red lights embedded in the prison walls burst into life. Everyone was plunged into a thick, choking silence, like someone had thrown you into a pool of blood. Victoria saw the world in shades of red and black, and quickly found herself praying for night again. At least you can hide in the dark.

From the yard below came a hiss, then a bone-shattering boom as the vault door was unlocked. It swung open to reveal a procession of hunched forms who marched slowly from the gloom like they were heading a funeral procession. From her cell Vicky couldn't make out who they were, the red light turning them into vague phantoms who drifted out into the yard. From the sound of wheezing, however, she could guess. She craned her neck to get a better view.

Jack was frozen, trying to be as still as possible to not draw any attention to his cell

Rhia seems to not even care, staying completely calm.

Nic just stared. Cold...they be....the inmates dragged to the depths of Furnace?

Aaron could feel absolute terror forming in her chest. She grabbed onto the side of her bed and squeezed it to avoid screaming. It was terrible, like a pain. Her breathing became faster and she pulled her musty blanket further over herself to hide.

Riley squeaks and pulls himself into a tight ball, closing his eyes tight against the sudden light. He puts his arms over his head as he tries to hide from the world.

Shade hisses at the light as his own reaction, wings folding over them both in discomfort. He didn't like it. "Ih, what the Titan!" He said, swearing in dragon.
