Her eyes moved across to room, hesitantly resting on the closet before finally focusing on Aesis. Every single one of her words was laced with quiet stress. Even bounty hunters had a breaking point, and she wasn't too far from hers.

Aesis
He folded his arms, crossing one leg over the other.
"I am very removed from the situation and I do not mind the complexity. If it keeps you from boiling over, so to speak, then it's no trouble to me to listen."
He followed her eyes briefly to the closet before he returned them back to her face.
He was visibly confused what she was staring at.

Zeth

She rubbed her temples, not sure if she really could say anything. Yuko knew about a lot of the situation, so maybe it would be better to confide in him rather than Aesis. In the end, she went against her better judgment and spoke on.
"Let's just say I got in a 'tangle' with the wrong person and now its costing me. If I'm not careful, it will cost everyone else as well. Every solution I come up with is just another step on a trail of broken glass."
Why the hell she thought it was a good idea to say this she didn't know, but it was one now, no taking it back. Perhaps Aesis is better at secrets than she expected. Perhaps she was building it all up to more that it was. The bruise on her stomach objected boldly to the second notion, however, she still had a glimmer of faith in the first. thought

(thankfully he is. Scias is too but he's a little imp that likes to dig out everyone's secrets and use them against them if they piss him off.. so not so much)

Aesis
"Like a contract?"
He thought about this. It almost sounded as if this was a matter of criminal involvement, a mafia, of sorts? They had still been very common on many planets the last time he was cognizant.

(and yet Scias might wonder why she's somewhat scared of him)

"Not quiet. Well actually, I take that back. It is a contract." While it is a contract, as far as she knew, on this planet, what she was involved in is not illegal should she be doing it with her given consent. Zeth signed a contract that counts as consent especially in legal terms. She used to do it constantly on her own, to release stress and what not, but now, she found herself stuck for at least another year.
The contract signs that she will fight to the death in each match. Even so, the fights weren't nearly as bad as the after shows. The victor was often featured. The thought made her shudder.

(I'm not convinced Scias isn't criminally antisocial in general, honestly. He's just.. something else. At least I remember where he gets it from now but it's so hard to keep him a likeable character when he's always 3 steps from shooting someone in rage and thinking he's the smartest person in the room 24/7 with his massive ego.

My bf's been following this group since I told him Scias got shipped and he already has bets on Scias dying by Saras gunning him down. My bf also hates Scias and thinks the dude has deserved all the crap he's gotten over the years, haha.)

If Scias was listening, Aesis was certain he would have made some sort of side comment about some Earth movie he watched once.
He was thankful that he was still shut out, at least for now.
"..Those are hard to get out of. I assume you're having doubts about it now because of Zeizan's return here?"

(while I think he is getting what he deserves and I can also see the whole Saras thing happening, I actually kind of like Scias, especially due1to his multiple imperfections. I think that the flaws make him a pretty well written character as opposed to the many many "I'm a perfect flawless Op character love me now" type of things I have seen before.
Side story- My mom sent me a pic of her new hairdo. I spent ten minutes laughing because it looks like straight up dora XD.)

Zeth buried her face in her hands, not in tears but in humiliation. Despite already being involved with her boss for the past four months, she was still coming to terms with the situation she had put herself in. Unfortunately for her, her employer was a powerful man. There was nothing she could do to escape. She had tried, hence the notable chip in her right horn.
"I have regretted it from the moment I read the fine print, which was unfortunately after signing. I haven't said this out loud before, but I think having Scias in mind is the only thing keeping me alive."

My boyfriend's mom had her hair cut short similiarly recently and I accidentally let it slip that she looked like a Karen. Thankfully both of them have a sense of humor about it.
Not looking forward to needing to cut my own hair here in a couple days (since curly ;;), but it should be an interesting result at least because I know they'll get me back for it.

And yes, Scias is one of my favorite characters for that reason. He's a lot harder to like than rest of my characters (because he's so painfully headstrong and absolutely hates most people and all authority, official or otherwise) and really just doesn't accept what's thrown at him (something people do a lot in rp or even storywriting because they are adverse to character conflict).

I like to write nuanced and flawed characters in general, sure my nice characters are fine, but I don't get a chance very often to write ones that are honestly hard to redeem because some people take rping way too seriously and I don't like to offend the person behind them (learned that very early with X and had to tone him down a lot since he managed to trigger someone and I lost a friend out of it @_@)
It's hard to write a jerk without people thinking you're trying to be one or trying too hard to write an angsty sue, lol.

Like Scias has a reason for being the way he is, but it's also who he is. There is no real way of fixing that and I think that can frustrate some people who look at him like he's just some tragic traumatized hero.

No, he's a punk, always has and will be. The only way he'd change is making an active decision to. He's got his redeeming qualities, sure. My bf gets that, but blames me for not writing him to be better, peh.)

He wanted to comfort her, but he wasn't exactly sure how to comfort anyone, let alone a human.
"I'm sure he would like to hear that. He seems to always feel like he is failing with you. I can tell he thinks of you a lot in the same way. Like a beacon over an uncharted ocean."

(I find it hard to get offended or triggered over what a character says or does in an rp, but I can understand how something like that X situation of yours would play out. If I am being brutally honest, Scias can be a bit confusing in terms of reactions and emotions, but I think that makes him more interesting)

That set aside, she took into consideration his words.
"Falling with me. That it. That's why I can't. I am going to end up dragging him down with me, and I can't have that. I...I love him too much to go through with it."
It had been six months. She needed to forget it and get over herself. A lot of trouble and pain would be spared if she did.
