She hugged him back, crying. He could also see another path for her. If she stayed alive, she was going to take the insurance money and move home again, back to Atlanta, and she's going to open her own restaurant. It was something she had always wanted to do, but she's felt guilty about the money. Dan wanted her to have it. It was his gift to her.

Electa stood without moving as she watched Vexin, her thoughts spinning. She didn't know why she was feeling so floored; all angels were psychic to some degree--this was just another sign of Vexin's half-angel nature.
Except somehow it felt completely different. Or maybe, it was his smile.
"Wait, can you--can you see dan? Does he have a message for me?" She asked, the hope on her face so raw.

He saw the hope on her face and he felt really bad,he didn't want to disappoint her but he wasn't a lier. "I'm going to say it honest,I'm not special like that.But I do have a feeling he's watching over you and has the best hopes for you." That other half was true,he did have a feeling.
