He nods, and calmly takes one shoe off. His feet are small and round, catlike, with black paw pads on the underside. They're also a deep blue, and identical to the (equally cute) paws of the healers.

(No, he's not. I can link some visual references of basilisks, but they're basically humanoids with bear & snake elements.)
