He used a leg to close the quarter door as he just held them, rubbing their back to help them feel better.

Ray shivers slightly and holds Jack tightly, not seeming to want to let go any time soon. Their legs feel weak and about to give out.

Jack gently picked them up and carried them to their bed, sitting on it with them held safely on his lap. He still hugged them.

Ray seems to melt, leaning against Jack as if their bones had turned to liquid and nothing was holding them up any more.

"I've got you." He whispered to Ray softly to reassure them.

"Thank you." Ray murmurs, for a moment thinking about how close Jack was and about a million other things passed through their head. They blushed furiously and chided themself silently.

He just nodded, a hand gently brushing Ray's hair.

Ray lets out a breathy laugh. "Jack, do you like me?" She asks. "Because I like you..."

"..." He sighed. "My apologies, I don't share those feelings. I admire you and your cunning, you are one I'd hold dear as a friend. But no closer, for our time of knowing one another has been quite short."

Ray nods slightly, silently asking himself why he had asked Jack that. They hadn't known each other for a long time, and it's not like any of Ray's relationships ended up well. He stops leaning on Jack, "Waaaiiit. What cunning? I wasn't cunning at all earlier. With you and Elias. I spoke before I thought. I should have been able to do everything on my own, I could have taken you out, but no, my tongue decided that it wanted to share the treasure. And Elias, well, I just didn't think and my pride betrayed itself." He glances away from Jack, not sure why he was saying any of this. He should shut up before he messed up more.
