blackout joins the herd who is still guarding the humans refusing to let them leave and the lion keeps coming back and luca sees why under a fallen log are the lion's 4 newborn cubs which is also probably why blackout was attacked he got too close to them and the mother attacked him

chief "yea but those horses ain't gonna let us leave anytime soon they are probably thinking that snowfall and us are in danger let's get these horses somewhere different so they can sleep in peace and the lion can get to her babies then you can go to bed again"
