Micah smiled softly. "No, that's ok. At least wait until after dinner."
Janet gaped at him from behind Austyn, her hazel eyes widening. "Come on, if he wanted to hurt us, he would've by now, guys," Micah said, putting his hands on his hips. Silvia looked at Ray, stepping to Austyn's side. "I guess so," she said slowly. "Still, I think Janet should stay away from him. She'll annoy you half to death, and I don't want you hurting her," she said to Ray.

Ray nods in understanding, thankful that they were letting him stay. "Thank you. I promise you, I won't hurt Janet or you, Silvia. I know my word isn't much to you yet, but I'm positive it will be soon." He didn't give any promises for Austyn though, and Austyn was too busy being glad that Janet and Silvia were safe to notice.

Janet blinked once, then beamed and ran over to Ray, wrapping her arms around his waist. Silvia sighed, pulling the girl back. "Sorry- She's like a six-year-old."

"It's fine." Ray says with a shrug, not really minding. He hasn't had much experience with children, but he didn't find them super annoying.

A conch horn blew from the pavilion nearby, and Janet smiled. "Food time! Are you sitting with me and Austyn?"

"If you want me to." Ray says, grinning at the mention of food. He was famished! Austyn gives Ray a weary glance.
"As long as you don't eat demigods, I will allow you to eat with us." Austyn says. Ray gives him a smile.
"Why would I eat demigods?" Ray asks. "What are demigods exactly?"
"What we are." Austyn says. "Except for you. You're probably a monster." Ray's wings droop a little bit, and his usual smile turns into a small frown.

Janet glared at Austyn, dashing to Ray's side and hugging him again. "He's not a monster," she said fiercely. "He's my new friend!"
Silvia smiled wearily as a blonde girl walked over. "Hey, Silvia. You coming?"
"Yeah, Olivia. See you, guys," Silvia smiled at the boys and Janet, waving as she walked away with Olivia.
"Austyn, can we talk," Micah asked, looking at him.

"Bye," Ray waves after Silvia before he gives Janet a small hug back. " Friends? " No body had said that to him in a while...

"Sure. What is it Micah?" Austyn asks, heading to Micah's side.

"Yeah! You're cool," she said happily, poking Ray's side and beaming.

"What's up with you," Micah whispered, turning himself and Austyn around so neither Janet nor Ray could read their lips. "You're not usually so suspicious of newcomers."

"He fell out of the sky, muttering something about monsters threatening to destroy us and he has fangs. Maybe he is a monster. I don't know... I just don't like him." Austyn mutters.

"Cool? Really? I think myself as sort of hot." Ray teases, giving Austyn and Micah a sideways glance. "But I'm not sure. I don't understand females." He shrugs.
