I like them both very much ^_^
But maybe with Nick you could make it so he can create the illustion of fire? That maybe feels like fire so it feels like your getting burnt? Because I was just thinking how random it would be if he was in class holding a book, get's angry at the work and set's it on fire XD
You can keep it like that if you really really want ^_^
