Knuckles huffed. He didn't really know what he was expecting. "Vector, you know I hate being lied to." He stated, folding his arms and raising a brow. Typical. This is part of the reason I'm not with them anymore. He thought.

Sonic chuckled. The Chaotix were usually a goofy trio. Except Espio. Espio was down right spooky when he wanted to be. "Well, I guess we could use--" He paused.
"Wait, Charmy, who's this 'Furball'?"

Espio shrugged. "New detective in town. A Cat that Vanilla and Cream befriended. Been spending a lot of time together the past few months."
Vector glared at his friend, "Espio have you no pride! Our reputations and the heart of sweet Vanilla are at stake. We're the detectives around here not some Wannabe whiskered....Cat!"
"Yeah", Charmy said, "We're the best and we'll prove it."
Espio glanced at his companions," There is nothing wrong seeking to prove yourself, however you could do it less childishly."
Charmy stuck out his tongue as Vector growled, "Who are you calling childish."

Knuckles, blunt to a fualt, responded. "You, Vector. You're acting childish. And that's coming from a 16-year-old. You're 20."
"Besides, what's this cat got on you that you need to prove yourself, huh?" Sonic asked, trying to help defuse the situation. (Aside from being able to pay rent, he thought.) "You're funny, you're tough... Chaos, you helped take down Neo Metal-Me and Infinite's army of illusions, right? And what about braving Carnival Island with Mighty and Knux?"

Vector looked deflated, "Then why isn't she paying attention to me."
Espio cracked an eye, "Maybe because you rarely talk to her. If you tried to see her more often she might spend more time with you."
Vector folded his arms, "What do you know about romace."
Charmy was looking across the street., "Oh look there's Vanilla and cream."
Vector looked up panicked, "What where do I look alright? What is Vanilla doing?"
Cahrmy blocked his view looking incomfortable. 'Uh Hahahah nothing much ummm."
Espio glanced across the street. "Looks like them and their friend are going to dinner."
Vector swelled up in anger, "What! You're saying that worthless ball of fluff is taking my girl to dinner!"
Sure enough across the street was aforementioned rabbits with a handsomely marked orange tabby cat wearing detective clothing.

Felinus opened the door for the two females before following them inside. Vector growled holding one claw in the air." Chaotix we are going over there to find out what they are up too" Charmy squealed in excitement.
Espio just sighed, "Don't tell me you're going to get us kicked out of another resteraunt.."

Knuckles groaned aloud and massaged his temples. "Chaos have mercy!"
Sonic shared the echidna's exasperation. "Vector, look, ladies don't like an obsessive guy. Spying makes you look pretty desperate, man."
Knuckles glanced over at the doors to the restruant. "Hey, I don't know much about dating, but isn't it supposed to be, like, one on one? Why're Cream and Cheese with them?" He asked.

The three Chaotix members looked at each other and shrugged.

Meanwhile inside the resteraunt Vanilla pondered on her friend as she watching him joking and laughing with cream. In so many ways he reminded her of her childhood and the brother she had lost as a child. They were very young when he grew ill and passed away. There were several things about Felinus that reminded her of her lost sibling. She supposed it was his since of humor, the way his eyes twinkled when he joked, and the playful way he got at times. Vanilla smiled watching Cream chatting away to their handsome friend. Her daughter seemed to treat him as a kind of surrogate uncle. Their feline friend had seemed so lost when they had first stumbled across him in an alley way. At first she was worried that he had been injured or ill. Finding he was without a home and seeing the pain and loss in his eyes had aroused her sympathies. The thought of leaving him by himself made both her and cream terribly sad. So they had offered him a place to say. The first few weeks he seemed completely ill at ease in the city and around others. However in spite of any personal problems he was facing he went to work finding a job. Given his qualifications it was not hard to get his license. With their help he soon had his first case. Shortly later he found his own place. The fact that he had no other friends still bothered her and Cream. It hurt to see anyone so alone. So she and her daughter made an effort to keep in touch. Over the next few months the friendship had grown stronger until their new found friend was almost like honorary family. Vanilla still wished her handsome friend could find a pretty and sweet natured girl to settle down with, might keep him from being so lonely. However as much as she and Cream cared for their friend, she was not the type to meddle in his personal affairs. The incident in the Chao garden seemed to indicate that he was growing more comfortable here. That he seemed happy was a good sign.

She was brought back to the present by a question, "What should we order mama?" Vanilla looked at her daughter.
"Well let's see what's on the menu dear."
Felinus frowned momentarily, "You okay. You seem a little lost in thought."
Vanilla smiled apologeticly, "I suppose I was just a little preoccupied."
Felinus chuckled good naturedly, "Happens to the best of us....Hmmm think I'll try their famous Spaghetti and Meatballs."
Vanilla turned back to her menu, "The Fetticini Alfredo sounds nice."
Cream looked at the menu with her Chao, "What do you think Cheese? Should we try the kids Cheese Ravioli."
"Chao Chao"

"Guys, look," Sonic huffed. "Unless you're on a case, spying just makes you look like some kind of creeper. Trust me there; Amy's done it to me more times than I care to discuss. Very uncomfortable. Look, I have an idea. Vector, tomorrow morning, around 9 or 10, give her a call and just... you know, ask her out to coffee or lunch. Something casual, and just talk for a bit. I have a lot of fangirls, so I think I'm qualified to give that advice."

Knuckles rolled his eyes and shook his head, but otherwise didn't respond.

Vector stared at the ground sullenly, "Oh yeah and what if she's hanging out with Mr. Furball again, Huh what then?"
Charmy piped up, "And what about our professional pride. I mean we're the best detectives in town right?"
Vector lifted his head, "Right. Besides we're not spying on Vanilla. Sweet Vanilla is completely above suspicion. That cat is the one we're watching?" Espio just shook his head and closed his eyes with a sigh.

Meanwhile the three in the restaurant were enjoying their meal while listening to the restaurant's music. The upbeat Italian music had Felinus tapping his tail to the lively air. Cream was using a napkin to wipe Cheese's sauce covered mouth, while Vanilla smiled at the whole scene.

(Sorry I was gone for so long. We have been trying to sell our house. Someone was coming to look at it. So after teaching my Sunday school class we had to head home and do some quick cleaning before they arrived.)

She ran out of paint and scratched the ground by mistake
She looked at the fast approaching light, then at her friends
Her whiskers singled and she looked back at the light, it was almost here
" block" she said, and a wall appeared were her paw prints were
The light ignored the wall completely
Next thing she knew, she was lying near an ally with some mission memories
(Now)
She was walking home after a day at work
When she was found it was thought that she lost all her memories, she lost only a few, and those where coming back
She arrived home and went inside then used the fire escape to get the roof

(That's alright. Life happens.)

Sonic sighed. "Well, if she already has plans, plan for another time. As for professional stuff, like I said, you fought Neo and you were all Resistance Core. Unless this cat has something better than that under his belt (and how likely is that, huh?), I think you're OK."
