( Funny idea, but I thought what if Sasha did it and they a giant ball of flame just exploded, and Jac would just be like " And now we test if Reapers can die " xd )
" Really? Thank you! " She said with a grin, and then quietly listened to her and nodded, and then attempted to try what Jacqueline did, all that really happened was smoke appeared, nothing more nothing less. She seemed pretty proud to be able to just do that much though.

((XD yes, you should totally do that when Sasha tries again!))
"You have to concentrate," Jacqueline said. "Really think about the motion. Visualize the particles speeding up in your mind."
She demonstrated the snapping again. With the tiniest bit of will, she caused it to flare up a foot long, shrink to a tiny ember, flicker back and forth. As always, she felt a thrill, fascinated with the bit of 'magic' she was able to do, even though she'd done it thousands, if not tens of thousands, of times before.
"In all honesty, Sasha, the motion has nothing to do with it," she explained. "It's like a trigger. Almost like... well, if you wanted to take a step forward, you would just do it, right?"
Jacqueline waved her finger back and forth, as though she was putting out a match.
"The snap is like mentally saying, 'I'm going to take a step' before you do it. It's not necessary, and you don't have to after you've been walking for years, but you do when you're first learning how to walk. Watch."
She held up the finger again, and it burst into a thin flame, white at the base and flickering out to red and orange.

Sasha nodded, " I guess you are right.. Though it takes practice, anyone can learn to do anything on auto pilot can't they? " She said, closing her eyes and thinking of flames and fire, and how if she snapped her fingers, it would be like a match.. and flame would spark.. Snapping her fingers did indeed make flame spark, a giant ball of flame that exploded into a small inferno for a few moments.. Let us just say it didn't end too well when it was finished burning, luckily only for about a minute. " Oops... too much flame? "

Jacqueline froze, her eyes wide. Both her and Sasha's faces were dusted with soot and their hair was singed. She stayed that way for several long moments, amazed Sasha had the sheer amount of raw power to summon such a blaze on her second try.
But the greater the power, the greater amount of control was needed. Jacqueline had learned that lesson herself.
"Too much flame," Jacqueline agreed, the corners of her mouth twitching up in a faint smile.
A smile? Really, Jackie. That's the second one today. You're going soft.

" I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to burn you, you aren't hurt right? " Sasha asked, seeming quite worried for Jacqueline, thinking she might of hurt her. She was reassured by the faint smile, but still worried she somehow wounded her.. She wasn't aware if reapers could even be wounded or not at this point.

Jacqueline didn't read Sasha's mind, but she was going along the same train of thought.
"We can still be hurt as Reapers," she said, brushing herself off, "but it takes a lot more than to do any damage. You have a lot of power, Sasha - more than I've ever seen in someone who hasn't trained to achieve that. It's rare - incredibly rare - that someone's able to do so much at once. Most can hardly manage a few sparks."
She covered Sasha's hand with her own as though the younger Reaper's hand was still on fire and she was smothering it with her palm. "But with that much power, you're going to have to learn a lot of control all at once. For now, let's not try that again, shall we?"
She released Sasha's hand and gestured down the hall. "How about we go get equipped for out trip down to Earth."

Sasha nodded understandingly, she was glad she hadn't hurt Jacqueline and more glad that she probably wouldn't be able to hurt any of the reapers if she didn't try to- which she most definitely wouldn't- She wouldn't be trying to make fire appear again. " Yeah, that's probably a good idea.. I don't like the idea of going down there without anything. " She said with a nervous laugh as she started slowly down the hall, she could walk fast but.. she really didn't like the idea of being left alone just to her thoughts at this moment.

Jacqueline led the way down the hall and through a side door to a covered outdoor walkway.
She followed the path almost on autopilot, retracing the steps she had taken hundreds of times. Sasha still surprised her - and if she was honest, made her slightly on edge as well. Someone so powerful was incredibly rare, and Jacqueline didn't think that it was a coincidence Sasha had been killed just before the incident occurred. Or should she call it The Incident?
It's doubtful they planned for her to become a Reaper. If their goal is to prevent death, for whatever reason, if makes it more difficult for them if they have someone like Sasha in their way, hunting them down.
Jacqueline went cold, and it took all her effort not to stop dead in her tracks. But they might have. What if they intended for this to happen. All of this. Sasha, death. What is she's with Them? What if she's causing it?
"Sasha," she said, stopping outside the armory doors. They were massive slabs of ebony-dark wood, banded with silver and etched with designs the Reaper's crossed scythes-and-skull symbol. At least the humans got that part right about what they believed to be supernatural creatures.
"Do you remember how you died? I know it can be hard to talk about, but-" But what? I can't tell the girl about my suspicions. "I need all the information and help I can get."

Sasha seemed to tense at the question, she honestly hadn't remembered how she died.. but trying to remember always made her heart hurt.. or, at least the emotional heart. She no longer had a real one if she was correct about how reapers no longer had organs. " I-I don't know.. I remember a few things, I remember a loud sound, a hand holding me back, and flashing lights... but a thousand deaths could of been like that so I cannot even pinpoint what it was, or who held me back.. but whenever I try to remember all I can feel is this deep sense of lost, and pain. " She said with a sad, weak smile. " I never had my memories of death.. I wish I did, maybe then I could remember everything else. I can't even recall who I was before all of this. " she was toying with a few ribbons she had added to the cuff of her shirt, she didn't seem nervous but very embarrassed for not being able to retell it. She didn't want to be useless- she wanted to be as helpful as she could possibly be. " If it helps at all.. I don't like killing things that have a strong love tied to it. Couples, best friends, animals that are beloved pets.. I hate killing things that hold love in them. I don't know why, but I simply dislike it. "

Jacqueline stiffened. It wasn't just unusual for a Reaper to have no memory of their death, it was practically unheard of. There were only three other people - or Reapers, rather - like that that Jacqueline knew of. One sat on the Council, one had grown weary of endlessly taking lives and chosen to follow the souls he took to whatever lay beyond death (not even the High Lord knew)... And the third was Jackie herself.
"Interesting," she said aloud. She had perfected an indifferent mask years ago, not letting a single emotion show, and she hid behind it now. "Well, that can't be helped. I can talk to someone about it later, but we have a mission to accomplish now."
The promise was an empty one, of course. No one knew about Jacqueline's death, and she had never told anyone. Speaking of that... "Under the circumstances, Sasha, I think it's best if you didn't tell anyone else about that for now. Understood?"
She pressed her scythe pendant against a matching indentation in the elegant lock of the armory doors. They swung open without the slightest whisper. Whether it was a touch of magic or simply perfect engineering Jacqueline didn't know.
The room was round (which seemed to be a theme in the Reaper's Halls), and divided into quarters. On one side of the door they entered from was an assortment of more historical and fantasy-type weapons, broadswords, morningstars, battleaxes, crossbows, and more. To the other side were weapons that were modern in the human world, guns, small blades, high-tech hunting bows. Opposite those was a wall hung high with every sort of armor imaginable, from plate and mail to Kevlar vests. The fourth quarter of the room was strangely bare after the rest of the room. Here there were small items, but those with magic. It was far more difficult to access one's power down on Earth - Sahsa wasn't likely to blow them up with a fireball there - but magic in its purest form, energy, could be stored in places like Jacqueline's pendan to use later.
Jacqueline swept an arm around the room. "Choose whatever you need, and don't be shy. It's a simple matter to fold items away in the layers of reality so we don't have to carry them around, but can summon them in an instant."
