Yes, but I am breeding him using the advanced search until I can get a female emporer's dragon and then I will breed those two together.

That's because no one has wanted a emporer's dragon nixi. If I bred him before someone wanted him that would take a up a lot of space and then the offspring that I have may not be the gender they want.

it helps if you breed at the breeding ground though
you can kinda choose the gender

You can choose the gender at the breeding ground? I thought that was to see what both genders would look like if you bred two pets together.

i find that if you look at the female and then breed the pair you get a higher chance at female

Oh that's cool. It might depend on the breed though. I know that nixis usually produce females
