One of the petting animals (in Bluefield there are therapy animals, which are assigned to people, and petting animals, who go to anybody and everybody) comes over to him and licks his forehead.

It gets quiet again. It must have just been her imagination.
Kittie, his ironically named therapy animal, raises her head. She was a golden lab with blue-green eyes, and she never left his side. If she ever sensed he was stressed, shed always lick his hands until either he calmed down or he pushed her away. She stares at him for a moment, then begins licking his left wrist.

Blue, the therapy animal shed been assigned, raises her head and gazed at her with her large silver eyes. She then hops onto Kassies pillow and curls up by her neck, purring softly.

Evan bent down and pet the animal, holding it close to his chest and snuggling. His heart pounded against the ribs of his chest furiously as if his heart seemed to want to leap from within.

The little Persian cat wasnt familiar, but according to his collar his names Dusty. He purrs softly and rubs against him.
