"Thanks." I say. I am exhausted. I show my wounds. A lot.

I gently start to tend to Shade's wounds and bandage her up. She gets quiet and finally falls asleep due to the antibiotics that I gave her. This gives me some time to think.

"Night is falling. What am I going to do. They'll smell us at night with her like this. Or she'll find us. If we survive tonight I'll have to bring her with me and move out of this area." I whisper to myself.

Then I sit and stare at the stars as they start to appear, picking out my favorite constellations.

A few hours later, I wake up. "Wha-? It's night." I cry. The hounds. I fell asleep. I feel much better. My leg is slowly healing. I get up. "We must hide!" I tell the girl. I try to make myself a bat. Only half of me turns into a bat. At least my wings work. "Arrg!" I start to fall. I catch myself in time.

"Hold on!" I instruct the girls as she tries to fly away. "You are still not well enough to go yet. It's okay. We can leave in the morning. So far everything has been as normal as possible."

I really hope that we can make it until morning. Which, of course, is when it all goes downhill.

I struggle back up. "We need a guard. I know who." I snap my fingers. A bat flies to us. "Vrykolakas." The bat turns into a Vampire. "Guard, okay0? I'll find you a human." I tell him.
