Aewyn Tyros leaned against the wall, watching the proceedings disinterestedly. Really, she thought, someone ought to show those silly Silvers from House Calore, who were hosting the party, how to really throw one. She sighed to herself. Aewyn had not wanted to come to the party in the first place, but she had gotten an invitation, which would be rude to decline, and the party was necessary to her own plans - plans that, of course, she would never talk about to anyone. Spotting the prince across the room, she put on a flirtatious smile and adopted a silly, pretty look, like she was some lovely, empty-headed princess. However, her silver eyes remained as cold and hard as ever.
Aewyn's rainbow dress billowed out around her as she flounced over to the prince. "Why, hello, Prince Asher!" she trilled, curtsying. The diamonds sewn on to her bodice caught the light and threw spinning specks around as she straightened. Taking his hand and beaming, Aewyn said, "How positively lovely to see you here!"

He tried to hide his grimace of annoyance as the girl spoken to him. He had hoped to be done with this Prince nonsense today but of course Queenstrial was tomorrow... and it would decide his whole future. "Well, I do live here, so naturally I'm attending the ball." He said, amused, raising a dark eyebrow. Quickly, Asher threw an apologetic look to his friends.
He turned back to Aewyn then, hoping she would leave soon but opting to stay polite. "But I hope you are enjoying yourself, Lady Tyros." He pulled her hand up to his lips and kissed it, then extracted his own from her grasp. He knew fully well what mimics could do, and she quite possibly could pull whatever power she had in her memory. "And I assume you will be present or showcasing in Queenstrial?"

Oh, why do I have to put up with this half-witted princeling? Aewyn groaned mentally. Aloud, she tittered, "Why, of course I will be!"
((So, I have only gotten about two chapters or less into the book, can you explain the Queenstrial please?))

((Okay so to everyone who is unaware of what the Queenstrial is (sorry about not aforementioning it- is that a word? whatever), it's where a daughter of each house is picked to represent them. Their age really doesn't matter but usually girls around the Prince's age are picked. The daughter is sent into an arena with all the houses watching from the sides. A dome shaped force field is above the arena but below the roof of the building. The lady then shows of with her powers, and the strongest one is chosen by the King and Queen to marry the Prince. She becomes the next Queen after the current one dies.))

((Cool, thnaks, Shay. And yes, aforementioning is a word, the verb form of the adjective aforementioned.))
Whay do I have to put up with this princling? Aewyn thought. Aloud she tittered, Well, of course I will be! I mean, who would miss out on such an oppertunity?" She ducked her head, as if acting embarrassed by what she hat said, and tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear. If I have to act like this much longer... Aewyn thought meancingly. "So tell me, Prince," Aewyn asked, "Who are you hoping will win the Queenstrial? Is there anything you are looking for in your future Queen?" Aewyn droppedd a bit of the light manner, her cunning silver eyes - which were slightly iridescent , shimmering with House Tyros's rainbows - meeting his, holding his gaze.
((House Tyros's ability is to Mimic other's ablilties to a lesser degree - does that mean they can use all Silver's mgic, just far less powerfully?))

((Before I rp I'll just tell you what it's like, copy and pasting from the wiki))
"Mimics are not entirely categorized due to the shifting nature of their ability, which is aptly named. Mimics can replicate the abilities of those closest to them, while the strongest of mimics can recall abilities and utilize those they know best, albeit to a lesser extent than any truly abilitied counterpart. For example, a Silver mimic can train to manipulate flame and through recollection use this ability in combat, but even a partially trained burner would be able to best them with flame alone. Their strengths lie in quantity, not quality, as dueling a proper mimic requires battling multiple abilities."

"Not really?" He said awkwardly. "I mean, I'm sure there are plenty of lovely ladies but there's nothing I can really do. It's tradition, not my choice when it comes to these matters." He met her gaze evenly, raising an eyebrow slightly and making sure his golden eyes didn't waver. "And we'll see tomorrow who has what it takes to be the future Queen."

Aowyn dropped her mask completly at his words. She smiled but there was no humor in the expression, only cold, hard cunning. "Oh yes," she breathed, leaning close to Asher, her face scant centumeters from his. "We shall see."
Then the moment passed and Aewyn was back to the perfect character she was playing. She gestured to the open space in the middle of the room. "Might I interest you in a dance, Prince?" she asked quietly.
((Thanks for the definition, now I can plan Aewyn's performance. *evil laugh*))

((Imagine her shock when she finds out the Prince wants to rebel as well and she had to flirt for no reason at all))
"Of course. Though my Mother would kill me if she found out the lady had offered it before I got the chance to." Asher held out a hand to her, but his smile was somewhat forced now. Her expression had scared him slightly, but he tried to shake it out of his head. "You're the first one I'm dancing with tonight. Hopefully I won't disappoint." He said, his golden eyes narrowing slightly as he looked down at her.
