The Lost Grove is the LAST area in 3rd area and if I'm not mistaken to unlock 3rd areas you need to beat the boss in Aryth's Spire first.

I haven't unlocked that place where the boss is either... The enemies are OP.... :-:

Amarok has written a complete guide from starting town until area before the Lost Grove here
