The chat is horrible! I just wanted to say "Hi I am Chicolinsky at Sylestia" and the "Name" Chicolinsky" and the "place" Sylestia" were banned... I am a huge fan of childprotection and the protection of personal data... but this is ridiculus...
To answer your question: just click on your avatar > that should open the menu with the "x" in the middle and the icons around. at 7 o'clock there should be a little helmet inside of a shield symbol. > click on it an you are in the clane-menu.
There you can search for a clan by name. type in "sylestia"

You are right about the chat. it doesnt seem to do well with names in general.
