"Correct Solarpaw, your doing better than most newly apprenticed cats on their first time out," Whitefeather praised the apprentice, "Since we aren't on any hunting patrol, it's fine to hunt and eat, but we should at least bring back some prey."

Solarpaw puffed out her chest and raised her tail in pride. "So the hunters crouch is like... this?" She crouched down, but her tail was sticking straight up. "And then you just..." Solarpaw launched off the ground, her powerful hind legs acting like springs.

"Lower your tail Solarpaw, it's a marker for any prey you might be stalking, but you've got it down pretty well," Whitefeather said, there had to be some reason his apprentice was advancing better than other apprentices but thought better than digging into it during training.

"Okay." Solarpaw did it again, her tail low on the ground, but not touching the ground. Her nose twitched, and she slowly stalked forward, towards the scent of mouse. She nodded for a second, as if there was another cat around. She saw the mouse, then paused, getting ready to pounce. Redpaw leapt over his sister, coming from seemingly nowhere, landing on the mouse, slamming his paws onto it, revealing huge claws. He quickly snapped its neck, then picked it up and turned around to Solarpaw and her mentor.

"What are you doing here Redpaw?!" Whitefeather yelled, it'd be a while until he'd be able to see how good of a hunter Solarpaw was without Redpaw interrupting, but at least Redpaw was decent.

"But I got it..." Redpaw said, his tail lowering. "Plus, there is more prey! Right? So Solarpaw can catch more!" Solarpaw's tail twitched angrily. "Battle training sounds good right about now." She looked at Whitefeather for approval.

"Battle training is tomorrow, and you are not fighting your brother," Whitefeather sighed, "Redpaw, take the mouse back to camp and next time, don't stray from your mentor,"

Solarpaw rolled her eyes, then turned her back to her brother. Redpaw visibly deflated, and trotted back off to camp, his tail dragging in the dirt. Don't faulter. At this point, Redpaw will be better than you. a voice hissed threateningly in Solarpaw's head. Shaking her head, Solarpaw hissed, "Shut up!" For a half second a cat was visible to only the ones with the best of eye sight. The cat seemed surrounded in a mist, which was also barely visible. The cat disappeared.

"Excuse me?" Whitefeather said in surprise, he knew Solarpaw was sort of grumpy and rude but he though she'd at least keep that for proper arguments.

"I, er, was talking to Rav- myself. Solarpaw nodded nervously, then cleared her throat. She began sniffing the air for more prey.
