"Do I have too?" She complained. "I don't understand why we have to bring him food all the time. Dawnleaf is blind and he can get his own food, why can't Darkeyes?"

"Thank you Featherwing. We shall return shortly." He mewed walking away from the others. He took his time and felt around the ground for the building sticks he had put down that led towards the fresh kill pile. Here he waited for Ebonypaw to take him to the lake.

She shaked her head "No, Newtpaw already did pring him something...so you're free to do what ever you was going to do" she meowed at him, glancing back at Blazeheart.

He taked a last bite at his prey and beginned to lick his lips happily.

She nodded at him, smilling before followed him to back to nursery. She could'en than smile when noticed that her son Falconkit was playing with Willowkit. She layed down next to her mate Ivytalon.

He frightened about the other kit sudden sneeze "Are you sick?" he meowed flicking his ears curiously.

"Fall!! Fern!!", Cherry called for her kits. She was carrying a large vole in her mouth.

"We're here!!", Fern cried. She came out from behind a tree. Fall followed behind her.

"Ah, there you two are.", Cherry said with relief. She set the vole down in front of them. "I caught us some fresh-kill."

"Thanks Mom.", Fern and fall said, as they took a bite out of the vole.

Chuckling, Cherry turned around to look for more food, but was stopped by Fall.

"Yes my kit?", Cherry asked.

"Why do you always leave when you bring us food?", Fall asked.

"I have to catch food for me. I caught you and Fern some food for yourselves.", Cherry meowed in response.

"Okay.", Fall turned back towards the vole and continued to eat.

Smiling, Cherry turned and left. Sniffing the air for food, she caught the smell of a squirrel. Scanning the area for it, she saw the squirrel taking a drink at a large pond. Getting in a crouching position, she inched her way towards it. She squirrel turned towards her, and she crouched down even lower. The squirrel looked away. Cherry moved closer to it, and when she was close enough, she took a leap at it. The squirrel tried to get away, but Cherry finished it off with bite to the neck. Purring happily, she went to grab the squirrel, but a strange scent hit her nose. Sniffing the air, she identified the scent.


Cats.


Fur standing on end, Cherry sniffed the rest of the lake. Other cats had been here before.

And the scent was fresh.

She could smell the scent all around her.

Scared, Cherry grabbed the squirrel, and ran towards where her kits were hiding. However, she did not see the huge hole in the ground. Tripping over a rock, Cherry fell into a very deep hole. She tried to get out, but flinched when she felt a sharp pain in her left paw.


"Help!!", Cherry called out. It was starting to get dark. Her kits must've been worried sick. Struggling, she tried again to get out, but to no avail.

Tears in her eyes, Cherry yowled once more into the darkness, "Help!!!".

Ebonypaw- none
"Oh thank you! Come on Dawnleaf lets go!" She mewed as she dashed towards the fresh kill pile and helped her fellow apprentice to his feet. "Finally we get to leave! I though we would never get to go!"

"Why so eager to get away from the others? You used to love being with them." The tom asked feeling along the ground with his front paws as he went. Ebonypaw kept a close eye on him as she helped him down to the lake. "Thanks, I'll look of the herbs over here if you want to help."

"I would-!" She stopped mid sentence when she heard a distant distressed meow coming from the other side of the lake. "Hang on a second, I think I heard something over on the opposite bank. I'll be right back!" She meowed as she rushed toward the sound. It grew louder as she neared a rather large sink hole. "Hello?" She called down into the hole seeing a cat inside of it. "Don't worry! I'm here to help you! Just hold on a second and I'll sent a branch down to help you up!" With this said she went into the woods and drug back a stick for the cat to climb up. Carefully she slid it down. "There! Think you can climb that?"

sorry if snowpelt is in a bad mood, she just is in a bad mood, after loosing a plump, jucy, mouth watering, delectable, scrumptious rabbit to a hawk

Cherry's ears perked up at the sound of the she-cat's voice. She looked up, noticing the she-cat was sliding down a stick for to get out.

"There! Think you can climb that?", the she-cat had asked from above.

"I t-think so.", Cherry meowed. Getting on all fours she made it halfway to the stick, before she fell.

This paw hurts so bad..., Cherry thought to herself. But, despite the pain, she limped over to the stick. Her claws latched onto the stick, as she climbed up. She suddenly stumbled, nearly falling off the stick. She quickly re-balanced herself before continuing to climb up the stick.

Exhausted, Cherry finally climbed out of the hole. She turned to the she-cat, "Thank you so much. I thought I was gonna be stuck there forever."

Ebonypaw- (she's a she cat, not a tom :3) Cherry

"I'm glade we got here when we did then! Mind if I ask how you managed to get down there? That sink holes been there forever and I haven't heard of anyone else falling into it." The she cat asked.

"I was out hunting.", Cherry meowed nervously. "Hunting for my kits. I was trying to get back to them, but, that's when I fell into that sink hole."

That's when she thought about her kits. "My kits...I have to get back to them!". She was about to leave when her broken paw twisted. She hissed in pain.

"Easy now!" She meowed helping support the cat on her shoulder. "Tell you what, Dawnleaf can look at that paw if you want then we can help you get back to your kits alright? Maybe we can even offer you place to rest?" Ebonypaw offered. "I'll go find your kits if you want, I can bring them here if you want."

Fresh kill? Was that fresh kill she smelt? Her mouth watered with anticipation of the meal. It had been a long time since she had been able to find anything to eat. Slowly she creeped from her hiding spot to get the food, not seeing the two kits before she did. Who were they? "Well, hello there." She mewed. Where they like her? Alone? She could take them in. "Are you alone out here?"
