Skylar was taken aback by the brightness of the sun, the building they exited no longer being shaded by those around it. By the time her eyes adjusted, she noticed that the two of them were standing in what appeared to be a field with rolling hills, some large boulders jutting from the ground in places. At least, what looked like boulders at first glance. As she looked the landscape over again, she began to note that the boulders were actually pieces of concrete, with what remained of rusted metal beams sticking out of them. She looked back at Pax, "I think your dimensional theory may have been right after all."

Pax would look at the Concrete and Rusted beams, walking next to Skylar as he did. "Well, i can't say i'm not surprised." He'd say, before looking out. "It looks like something of a post apocalypse world...or atleast from a book about one." He'd say, before sighing a little.

"No kidding," Skylar took a few more cautious steps outside the building, "And it definitely looks like the apocalypse happened quite some time ago. There wouldn't be this much plant life it it did." She began to scan the area for signs of human activity, "What do you think happened to the human population?"

Pax would sigh a bit, then look around. "2 things could of happened. One is that they all died, or two is that they all went into shelters." He'd look back at the building, eyeing it a bit. "So,why did you think that activated?"

Skylar looked back at Pax, not exactly enjoying the options as to what happened, "I don't know. I don't think we'll know for a while either." She eyed the rolling hills that were likely just the covered remains of buildings, "I think we'll have to look around to find answers though. There's clearly nothing here that can help us right now."

Pax looked back at Skylar, sighing a bit. "You're right..let's get moving." I'd say, heading north.

Skylar clung close to Pax, knowing that if there was human life left here, it was likely they weren't going to be too friendly. She also found herself checking the ground below her feet, slightly paranoid about the idea that humans could be living in underground shelters. She'd almost rather there not be humans alive on this Earth.

Pax would put a arm around her, gaining the feeling that he was being watched. "Are you okay Skylar?" He'd ask, a bit concerned. He knew that there was something off about the area they were walking in, but he couldn't figure out what.

"It's just what you said earlier about what was left of the human population could possibly be living underground. I can't really stop thinking about it now," She looked at Pax, then past him, spotting smoke in the distance. She was filled with both relief and dread, not knowing what caused the fire. She pointed it out to him, "I hope the people who made that are friendly."

Pax would look at the smoke, sighing a bit. "Well, let's hope they are. Friendships can be tight in this kind of world." He'd continue to have his arm around her, ready to get into a fight at any time.
