Oooh interesting guess... I'm swinging between:
Normal. because, PINK, PINK EVERYWHERE,
Flying, partly because the Eevee in the gen V eevee based anime episode flapped its ears like wings at the end, and partly because of every other eevee except Jolteon having an opposite type... and it really doesn't look like a ground type... THIS is basically what I'm explaining badly.
ANNNDD the other off the wall choice that I've been contemplating lately is
Bug, partly because of its eyes, and partly because of THIS picture. Every other eevee is inside a border relating to its type, and the first thing I noticed about Sylveon's border is that tje shape at the bottom the same shape as the insect badge.
The other options flying about are Dragon and a new type... but we'll just have to wait and see! :3

many suggest flying?????
honestly this is getting confusing.... some are believable, but others are like, where do you get this idea?

Normal was my original guess, my idea was that..if we just let Eevee evolve the way its meant to, then this is what it would be. XD But then I thought to myself..why would they do a normal typing after all this hype? XP
I didn't think Flying made much sense, I didn't see anything that looked like wings except maybe the little bows for tiny little wings? But if it uses its ears to fly, then..well, that doesn't make any better sense, except to say it worked for Dumbo. XD But then again, anything's possible in Pokemon. :3 Golurk can learn Fly. XD

Expect the unexpected? if its a fairy, dragon, or bug, mebe it grows wings, or flys using psychic abilities of some sort.

Sylveon is officially Fairy type... a new type that is super effective against Dragon

I was thinking more Hydreigon tears... since Garchomp is quad weak to Ice it's not as ridiculously OP as the Dark/Dragon beast that is Hydreigon.

Hydreigon's fun, I'll admit. I use one named "Mars" and he's a total bamf. He could just stand to be a little faster. I'm still stuck in the 4th gen metagame mindset, where I giggle with ecstatic glee any time anything pees on Garchomp or Salamance's parade.
(I wouldn't be hideously opposed to something knocking Excadrill down a peg either. Blaziken deserves it's spot as a top threat, though, it can stay there.)

Excadrill is ridiculously OP, also among the few non legendary's/pseudo legendary's banned from tournaments
(I believe... don't take my word on that, I don't tournament myself, the nearest one to me isn't near enough to feel like I could get involved, unfortunately :/)
