Forgot to ping

Mae followed Rachel and peered down the hole. "It looks dark," she commented.

Rachel nodded in agreement " should we go in and look around?"

Mae hesitated, and nodded. She stepped back to let Rachel go in first.

Rachel Padded into the tree slowly. After a moment lights lit the inside illuminating a large winding wooden staircase.

Mae thought about turning around right there, but she padded in quickly and walked behind Rachel.

She trotted up the stairs that never seemed to end " so whats your name?" she asked kindly

Mae paused for a moment, then hurried to catch up with Rachel. "Mae." She said. "Like the month. Except not the month. People always think my name is spelled M-A-Y, but it's spelled M-A-E. Am I talking too much? I'm talking too much."

SHe chuckled " No your fine Its nice to have someone to talk to.. I'm Rachel"

"That's a cool name! My aunt's name is Rachel, but I call her Rachie. Can I call you Rachie?" Mae paused for a second. "Nah, you wouldn't like that. My name's too short to have a nickname. Actually, I wonder why my parents named me 'Mae.' I mean, that's more of a spring name and when I think of spring I think green, and I'm blue and- ooh flower!"
