(Sorry for the delay its been a stressful week. Someone I knew was in the hospital.)

Ms. Goldsworth looked thoughtful. I am having a dinner party tonight at seven. You could pretend to be...an old friend of mine from out of town?" Matt nodded thoughtfully that might work. After your guests leave I would like the chance To look around the scene of the crime. Have you cleaned out the stall yet?" The woman shook her head I have been to distraught to ask someone to do so." Matt nodded, "Hold off on doing so. I want to make sure there are no clues there first. When do you expect your first guests to arrive?"
"No more than an half an hour early", She replied. "I will come at around five and look at your security systems before they get there. It will give me time to do some research into your case." The butler who had been quiet until now spoke up. "Is that really necessary?" Matt smiled. "Of course If I am going to be asking veiled questions, I need to know what to ask and how to phrase it as an innocent question." The man looked confused for a moment,but made no further protest."

Ms. Goldsworth nodded. "I will pay you half now and half when my sylesti.." Matt held up a hand "Generous I am sure, but I make it a point to not accept payment until I complete the job. I find it works best that way." Another nod, "Very will then, that's all settled. I shall expect you at five. It is of course formal dress." She held out her hand awkwardly for a handshake to seal the bargin. Matt bowed slightly over her hand the way such a woman would expect a gentlemen to behave. Then he opened the door and showed his guests out. He walked to the field and stood by Bluestar as he watched the car dive away. He patted his sylesti's shoulder. "Looks like I'm renting a suit."

(I hope he/she gets better, my great grandma was in the hospital a few weeks ago, it's not fun.)

Grinning as I thought of the reaction she might have after she reads my note, I pulled up at the vetinary clinic. While I had been driving, Sarafine had cleaned the blood off of the both of us so we wouldn't look suspicious. Feeling confident, I hopped out of my van and entered the animal clinic along with Sarafine. The only reason Sarafine was allowed was because she was kind of like the representative of the clinic. She also greeted the guests and comforted nervous patients and such.

Finaly packed Ryder whistled to Criptic and headed out, locking the door on her way out. Humming to herself she fiddled with the pouch of jewelry and got in the car. Driving away she swatted at criptics head as it gives near her's. "God crypt, your breath smells horrid!" She laughed as she pulled up to her destination.

Matt rode into town deep in thought. There was little need to guide Bluestar as he knew the way well. They stopped by a taylor that had often helped Matt as an informant. He swung down and went inside. There was no need to tether his qitari as his sylesti would not wander off. Not only that but the Qitari would buck off anyone else who tried to ride him. He was definitely a one man sylesti. Matt sidled up to the counter. The other man looked up. "Out shopping for information Mattew." Matt smiled at the older gentleman. "Among other things. I need to rent a tux.I have some undercover work in a more high class neighborhood." The old man grunted, "Well I'll need to measure for size. What kind of high class are we talking about here."

Matt shrugged, "The high class world of sylesti beauty contests. Speaking of which what can you tell me about it. I don't want to appear completely ignorant during my act." About an hour later Matt exited the shop with the tux and new knowledge, some of which he thought might be useful. Mostly with a distaste forthe wealthy manner of entertaining themselves. He looked up and sighed in annoyance. One of Esior's Haven's finest. Despite being on the same side he did not have the best reputation with the police. He thought it likely that it was because of the friction between himself and the police chief. Still he sauntered up. "Can I help you officer."

The man had a proper scowl on. "You are in violation. This sylesti is without a leash." Matt raised an eyebrow. "I was unaware that there was a leach law on Qitari, or any sylesti for that matter." The policeman stiffened. "The town counsel has advised everyone to keep their pets on a leash." Matt held up a finger, "It was advised, unless they have made it a law since yesterday when I came grocery shopping and saw multiple people about with unleashed sylesties. The officer glared, "I'm going to have to give you a ticket." "A ticket about a nonexistant leash law would not hold up in court." The officer smiled to himself. "Its not for that. Its for open contempt of a police officer on duty and obstruction of justice, for while I am wasting my time talking to you I could have been to my next patrol and you have made me late." Matt sighed "Fine whatever".

Accepting the ticket would make the officer leave faster. Not all of them were that bad, but there were a few like this. Once a week there was a court where such tickets and fines could be paid. Usually he could get out of the lame tickets they gave him. However the officers who harassed him were not reprimanded for it either. Matt sighed. He should just be grateful for the first favor he supposed. He glanced at his watch. He needed to get going himself if he were to finish his research in time.

(Sorry for the really long post. I was trying to play catch up. Its tax season and my computer is almost always in use by someone else, and here I thought things would calm down after the holidays. Cue sarcastic laughter.)

Just to let you know I may not be on much for the next week. There's been a nasty bug going around and guess who it caught. My immune system was not running fast enough. (I defy the phrase that I caught the flu, as I was doing everything in my power to avoid it.)

Hey I'm back. Still a little under the weather, but at least on my feet.

(That's okay. In reality typing is the only way I can sing or really talk right now. Just as I beat the flu from one part of my body it moves to the next. From my stomach to my sinuses and now in my vocals. I can do everything I would normally do if I was not sick except for talk. Which explains why I am going crazy with typing. Thanks about my avi. I was feeling like something more spring-ish.)
