Well i'm currently reading Crystal Line by Anne McCaffrey, but i can't quite get into it as well as the first book in the series (Crystal Singer). It's probably the first full on space book i've read, come to think of it. Before that i read Howl's Moving Castle, which while i absolutely loved the movie, the book is absolutely amazing.
Speaking of manga, i'm reading Muhyo & Roji's Bureau of Supernatural Investigation. It's good enough that i actually was able to make myself get used to reading the left to right way, if that says anything!
i have a pretty solid list of books if you ever need a few recommendations. i'm not as avid of a reader as i used to be, but now that i have a nook it's easier to get new books when i get the whim, rather than waiting till my mom is willing to take me to the bookstore to sift through the crappy teen romance novels for gems. (for some reason i haven't felt the need to graduate to the adult sections yet, DX)

I never get to do a whole lot of reading (or anything) around this time of year, but after April I have a growing list of books I need to read.I'm looking into some more Piers Anthony. I haven't read any of his in years, but I've had a hankering for his writing style lately so I'm thinking of find a couple of his series that I haven't read. I almost regret that I've already read all of the Incarnations of Immortality series, because wow did I love those ones! If you've never read them, I highly recommend them.
One of my favorite ways to get into new books and try out different authors is to find a genre I'm interested in, and select a random book off the shelves. I don't always finish them, because sometimes they just fall short of what I like, but there have been plenty of times that I've done that and found a literary gold mine!

Right now I'm reading Tongues of Serpents (Temeraire book 7). Not sure how well-known it is but the series is quite interesting, especially for dragon lovers like myself.

Brightly Burning by Mercedes Lackey...again. |D I swear this is at least the third time I've read it. Along with other books from the same collection. I am so glad I picked up Brightly Burning at my library's old books sale. But I need to move on to new books too, not keep rereading my old favorites. XD

I'm a big bookworm that loves to read. I read each Twilight book within 24 hours (I'll never get that fours days of my life back. It was such a waste) mainly because I was really bored and wanted to see what all the hype was about. Turned out just to be for girl's to fawn over guys e_e. I just finished my summer goal of reading all the books in the Born at Midnight series a week or so ago and I'd recommend them highly. There's rarely a boring spot in them. On my 'Current' reading list are:
Abarat: Absolute Midnight, Book 3 I think, Clive Barker
Frost Burned, book 7 I think of the Mercy Thompson series, Patricia Briggs
The Fire Within, Chris D'Lacery
Dragonriders of Pern: Dragonflight, book 1 of the series
Spells, 2nd in the series, first was Wings
Spirit Bound, book 5 of the Vampire Academy I think
Wicked Lovely
Soul Bounds, by E.M. Sinclair
Prince of Wolves by Quinn Loftis
The Ranger's Apprentice book 6, by John Flanagan
Don't remember all the authors XD.
Of series I've finished recently that I'd recommend are:
The Immortals by Tamora Pierce
Song of the Lioness series by Tamora Pierce
Shadowfall Falls series by C.C. Hunter (The Born at Midnight books)
The Dragon Slipper series by Jessica Day George
The Hunger Games (Everyone knows what these are. Just be warned the last book is a bit dull compared to the first three)
Dragonspell series by Donita K. Paul (Surprised me to find a DRAGON series that was christian. It's rare to see such fantasy books as christian and the last ones I found was the Narnia series)
Tamora Pierce has written several series and I've heard good things about them though I've only tracked down two I plan on tracking down others later. I'll let you know how they are
Long lists

Well as of right now, I'm reading a book For the summer school-at-home thingy my school does. I don't even know the title, or do I care to look it up because....IT'S SO DAMN BORING!!! If I wasn't required to turn in a book report on it I'd drown it. And then allow the fishes to eat it. And then INCINERATE IT. And then take the ashes back to the bookstore for a refund. *Is totally serious*
But, On a happy note, I just finished the "Hex Hall" Series. LHDEBFUWEBF I AM IN LOVE!! I zipped through the entire series in three days. It was just so amazing! I loved the characters, I loved the plot, I loved the werewolves, witches, vampires, demons, Ghosts, and Faeries!
Of course with the love triangle,(SPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILER!!!!) I was just like, "Kill one of them so I don't have to choose!' And then when she DID?! I threw the book out the window screaming, "I DIDN'T REALLY MEAN IT!!!"

I love to read and will give anything a fair shake; though I flat out refuse to read the Twilight series. I won't, I won't. However, that said, I loved the Host. It was actually really good. I saw the ending coming a mile off, but it was such an interesting journey I didn't mind that.
One of my current favorites is Pillars of the Earth. It starts of super slow, and there is no magic; but it is a surprisingly beautiful story. I never ever thought I'd say of a book, "My favorite character? Its a tie between the priest and the architect." I mean, really? I feel like that's a sentence that just shouldn't happen. But it did.
But what I am reading right now is "The Three Musketeers," by Dumas. Yes, /that/ one. The classic. It came in my phone, it has a built in reader in it. And you know what? It's really good! The language is a little thick to get through, but I am really enjoying it. It surprised me, though I guess it shouldn't. Every time I read a classic, I realize its classic for a reason. I felt this way about "The Scarlet Pimpernel" too, which if you have never read, you should. He's the original Batman; a rich and shallow guy who secretly isn't as stupid as he seems to be, and runs around saving people... only he's married, his wife is friends with the Joker who has her deceived and blackmailed and doesn't know her husband is Batman; and also the Joker wants to decapitate everyone because hey, its the French Revolution and that's what they do.
If you like The Hitchiker's Guide series, you must find Spaceship Titanic.
Anything Terry Pratchett is a win, how do you not love Discworld? Or Good Omens, by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman which if that isn't just the chocolate and peanut butter combination of writing, I do not know what is.
And for a good steampunk fantasy, the Leviathan Series by Scott Westerfeld. Soooo good. There's strange animals and steampunk mechas and a prince on the run and a girl pretending to be a boy enrolled in the military, something for everyone, really.

@Chidori, I think you would love the Shadowfall series. It's all about every type of supernatural you can think of. I highly enjoyed it and the series is already completed so there's no wait for the next book. www.epubbud.com has the epub on it for for along with a few others in the series. Whenever I'm looking for a new book I head there and since I got a new kindle fire I use calibre to change the .epub into something my kindle can understand. If you have some other device you read your books on I can link you to a good online converter you won't have to download, only the converted file. The series goes in a order something like this:
Born at Midnight
Awake at Dawn
Taken at Dusk
Whispers at Moonrise
Chosen at Nightfall
There are a few side stories published and two planned sequels but the main story is complete

@LunarStorm, going over your list of favorites, I agree you will like Tamora Pierce. If you get the chance, pick up Ilsa Bick's "Ashes" and "Shadows". They're the first two books in a trilogy, the third of which is due out next month. The writing is intelligent and high-quality, the pacing fast, the plot twisty and intriguing. I think they'd be right up your alley.
My current read is "The Orphan Master's Son" by Adam Johnson. It is a rather frightening look into a young man's life in near-modern-day North Korea and, as such, is sometimes a struggle to read. Not because it's boring (far from it), but because of the almost nonchalant attitude of some of its characters toward the fear, poverty, brainwashing, and torture that goes on under the current regime. If you are interested in current events and actually enjoy the inherent warnings in science-fiction books like "1984" and "Brave New World", then I might recommend this one. It's certainly going to stick in my mind long after I've finished it, although not always in a good way.
