Thanks. I noticed that you had lots of Qitaris when I started to browse your stables last night. (Many thanks to SpaceElf) :) I definitely plan to look more in depth because I really need Qitaris with black for body 1&3, and from the little bit of browsing I did I saw that you had at least that. Do you by chance also have any Qitaris with Socks?

So I dyed his mane and it's not pure (I would have been surprised if it came out pure) but it looks pretty good for a lesser dye. I'd like to get a greater dye and try that out to see how that one works. I'd definitely use more dyes.

You actually have quite a few Qitaris that have the coloring or close to the coloring that I'm looking for. I'm not done going through the stables just yet but I plan to finish going through your stables soon enough and then maybe we can work out a deal.

Oh yes, though they're still very young and some still in the egg. I'm breeding more though. See, when you breed for breeders, you have to add a few that have only one or two things, since that's often what someone is looking for...frequently just to reinforce that mark as their breeding project continues.

Interesting! Sounds like you really know what you're doing! Does it ever get tedious? I'm finding that trying to find the Quitaris that closely resemble what I'm looking for to be slow going and it eventually gets tedious.

No, it doesn't. I like finding out how genes work on different sites, see and genes here work more like real breeding does than most places you see. I like watching how and when different traits blend, show or hide and pounce later.

And a project produces many critters that are gorgeous in their own right, leading to ideas to breed in ways that hadn't occurred to you.

Sadly, no, I don't have any with socks, however there are a few Qitaries up for public breeding with socks that I could breed with some of mine that you like, that have Demon Wings and you'd get the right combo. The only problem is their scale colors aren't blue, but I found some with black bodies.

Here's the ones I found:

Hmmm... You make a good point there. I guess its more trying to find everything rather than putting them together. I also love he near limitless possibilities for these pets. Considering I have a few Pet breeding projects Id like to do this one will show me the ropes... Though itd be far easier if I had essences... But I love a challenge. XD

Don't be afraid to experiment...you can't learn anything if you don't. As long as two pets have at least a carried in any given slot, they can produce visibles...it's not the mutations you keep an eye on, it's color...colors that produce gagging need to be released....

Now, one of the pairs I've got have black bodies...but the manes and tails are rainbow and if you don't look closely at the stats, you might not realize that both a gene and a mutation are in use...

That's these two:

I made them with essences not too long ago, neither is old enough to breed just yet. The mutation is obvious, but the gene? Not so much.
Gene Three: Rainbow Mane
Mutation Two: Luxurious Locks

The effect when everything else is black is rather startling. But the thing is, any qitari that has a mut or a gene in the same slots, can produce different effects when bred to either animal if they have visible or carried that is different in those slots. That's why the male will be up for stud but not the female. The female will only be bred to this stud, any other combinations will occur only with other mares with im as a stud for at least four or five generations, that way, I can slowly add other slots and eventually breed a great or great, great grandson of the stallion to the mare.

I can repeat that process with the mare and then, once in a while readd the male to the bloodline by breeding him to fillies that are by then quite distant from him in terms of relationship.
