For anyone who does come back to this...
It's sad when the auction of an imaginary pet can cause hurt feelings. When I awarded the pet to Icekitsune I thought I was doing the RIGHT thing. The honest thing. Because she was the first to offer the buyout price. The second offer when I added it up was NOT more than the offer above it. That was an error I freely admit to. I'm sorry that I don't have several HD Griffi's with frost runes to just give away, but I don't. Had I been greedy, I would have let the auction continue. I certainly didn't gain anything by doing what was right other than keeping my own self-respect. I lost friends. I lost part of my Sylesti family. No cyber-currency or imaginary pet is worth this kind of drama. I honestly thought I was doing the right thing, and I honestly thought the the people I thought were my friends knew me better than that. I guess it really is just a game.
