I get what you are saying, and I respect that. However, have you considered that only taking gold puts newer players at a disadvantage? Gold takes a lot of time to accumulate, which newer players haven't had.
Please think about that, at least.

Excuse me, but she has every right to accept only what she wants to for what she is selling.
She does not, and should not, have to consider what puts a person at a "disadvantage". Why should she accept payment in a way that is less than what she wants?
Tagged exclusive pets are rare and valuable. If you can't afford it, you do not have the right to lecture someone based on the fact that you think their conditions are unfair.
Blow a whopping $20 on diamonds. Sell those diamonds. BAM you're a millionaire.

If you don't have real money to play the game on what I call "easy mode" then yes, you will be at a disadvantage for things that cost millions and millions of gold.
If you can throw down a whopping $5 on a game you love then you'll have over a million gold. That much real life money can be saved up returning cans if need be.
Things cost money, whether it's real or fake. It's just the way it is. Sorry.

Also I guess I just assumed you could afford diamonds considering most of the items on your avatar are diamond items....

Even so Psalm, its rude to argue with the person hosting the auction as to what they choose to accept. If you dont have a sufficient bid, come back when you have something they want. Otherwise, Im sure theres plenty of other people who would like your bid :)
