I think theyre looking really cute so far! I love the addition of the little gem shards!
A few things that I wondered about after staring at them a while:
-at first the males forearms looked kind of leggy, but I think it may just be that the claws seem a bit large to me? It also looks that way on the old design, though, so maybe thats a feature that people want to keep.
-I assume the limb gems are still going to be added to the adults like they are on the babies? If so, then nothing else to add there, and also that could be whats throwing me off about the males forearms.
-the males face seems a bit small/squashed/less fluffy compared to the females and babys faces.

I think I might have an idea for the reason to 'the adult male's face is a bit wonky, but I don't know why' feeling that a few people are getting.

He's a bit pug-faced. The female has more definition to her chin and cheeks and I think his lack is making his muzzle look a smidge flatter than intended. (This also could be contributing to the perceived small head? Since it makes his face stand out less against his chest fluff.) This is something that could maybe change with shading? The current male does have a more defined chin, but the shading does seem to be doing some work too.

On another note, the female is gorgeous and I am loving the changes to the gems.

These are super cute! I can't wait to play around with the new line art and see how the genes and mutations look!

The only things I can see that I want to comment on are the males smooshed muzzle and the lack of fluff on his face. The male hatchling clearly has a not smooshed muzzle and cheek fluff that pushes up the bottom lines of his eyes, but all of that is missing in the adult male. In contrast, the fluff and muzzle size stay proportionate from the female hatchling to the adult female.

Also, not an actual thing to change or worry about, but it is funny to see the adult female have such flat anime eyes while the rest of them have the full work up XD

Yep. The gems will still be there. We just missed adding them onto the Adult Male's sketch and refining them on the Adult Female's. They will be separate from their bases though so that we can add in new mutations that are alternative styles of gems.

Awesome, I'm very excited!! The babies are adorable and I'm a big fan of how the adult female's gems have been moved, though I do kind of wish the pose showed both ears.
Other people have shared criticisms about the male's pose and expression that pretty much reflect my thoughts, he just lacks some of the dimension the other sketches have.

Ooh yesss Im so excited for the bulbs to be revamped and updated!

First I think the babies are spot on, the only thing is it looks like the female baby is bigger than the male whereas the current ones look pretty similar in size so maybe making the male have a bit more belly? A personal request for them which may or may not be planned already, the cheek floof was really cute on both babies. It still looks fine without it but I liked it so that's my feedback lol

As for the adults, I agree with most that something about the male is off but I can't figure out exactly what.... It's the head and neck area mainly, like the head is maybe too small for the body? *I liked the change that Scathreoite did with the males arm in their post on this thread*

I also think both could be a bit more :ahem: bootylicious. For looks but also for markings, there used to be quite a bit of room for them. However that might just be me unable to visualize what the markings would look like.

That's currently all I have to say, I can't wait to see what any new changes and the final drawings will look like in the future! They look really good already <3

Regarding the size ratios of one to another, we always fine-tune those at the very end once all of the artwork is done and all of the mutations are in. We'll then go in and scale them to the precise size we want them to be - this is when we'll match the babies to be similar, for example.
