It looks like you might not be the only one looking for the aged drae (this mildly blows my mind ngl) so that is also likely a factor?

I dunno, I haven't actually seen any for sale nor have I gotten one from any of the pouches I've opened. Every mold has someone looking for em, but perhaps they are in fact in higher demand than I've noticed. *shrug*

demand overall feels higher to me this fest than most, but then I think I've only done winterfest once properly I think so perhaps this is just normal for this fest with the exchange?

I have no idea, I don't know if I've ever participated in the winter fest before. I know I didn't at all last year. But, with the frost exchange, I do think it's entirely possible the people who get the most fresses are smooshing them to exchange for what they particularly want instead of selling or trading 1:1. A good theory, you have.
But, I've lacked the time to keep an eye on the forums, and any trends are going under my radar.
