There's a cave in the ice, clearly the handywork of a sharp claws and powerful body. Sastrugi takes a glance at the handywork, evaluates the thick carve-marks by the mouth, and makes a note to tell the guards to be careful with the pair of SeaWings. Going by the digging here, they're built much larger and stronger than any others she's seen.
The IceWing's nose wrinkles at the sound of the distinctly NightWing name, a little exasperated but not outright outraged. Well, not more outraged than the presence of having two foreigners inside of the kingdom, anyway.
It's when a small scavenger emerges that she reevaluates the situation, dark eyes gleaming. Snowflakes catches onto the furs the other is bundled in. The twin pieces of shaped metal on his back shine in the little light falling from the skies.
"Walking back may take a while," she finally says. "Does he mind being dangled?"

Tiamat smirked at her reaction, before chuckling when being asked about Hakaishin being dangled. *oh, he doesnt dangle. Hakaishin, get the thing!*
The scavenger have a matching grin before running off. He returned a few minutes later with something that looked suspiciously like dragon armor. It was lots of iron plates stuck together in a fashion that would cover his head, body, and tail. It also had spikes on the tail (like the thagomizers - tail spikes - from a Stegosaurus, but bigger, lighter, and more of them. So more like Kentrosaurus. Look it up.) that were very pointy and awesome looking. There was also a peice of leather on the top of the neck, seemingly made from a horse or bear.
Tiamat laid down as Hakaishin began strapping the armor onto the dragon, moving with a certian Grace most dragons lack, and with expert skills like they have done this before. Once the dragon was all strapped up, the scavenger jumped onto the neck before sitting down and grabbing a strap on the saddle meant for stability.
Tiamat smirked.
*like I said, he doesnt dangle. He rides.*
Both scavenger and dragon grinned at the princess, and frankly, they look bad a s s.
(This but with Tiamat instead of the generic Seawing, and it has more plates on the tail, plus the thagomizers and the saddle on the neck.)

(Sastrugi may be doubtful, but I love the armor! The mock-up looks amazing, and the idea of dragon riders in WoF,,, yes <3)
Sastrugi watches as the scavenger bustles around the other, dark eyes keen to veil her confusion even as the armor is strapped on, thick plates well molded to the curve of Tiamat's body. Containing the two if they resist may be a bit harder with the protection, but the gear hardly looks comfortable.
It's only once she sees the saddle that she realizes the duo's intention. However deadly the SeaWing looks, the effect is ruined by the figure perched atop his neck. Does he not feel ashamed, Sastrugi wonders, to be carrying another like a beast of burden?
Still, diplomacy. Sastrugi makes a quiet hum, tunes it towards approving, and spreads her wings. "Let's go," she calls, taking off.

The dragon grinned, and shot off like a rocket into the sky, much to the cheering cries of the scavenger. The dragon and scavenger both roared to the heavens, and the small creature rose and stood on the dragons neck. . .
Before jumping off.
Tiamat laughed and dove after, and the two raced to the ground at breakneck speed. . .
Before both of them soared high into the sky on wings.
And yes, Hakaishin has a wing suit.
(Its Hiccups gliding wing suit from HTTYD 2 and 3, complete with the fun dorsal sail on his back. The scales on the suit are blue and purple, though. Not black.)
The duo flew through the sky, their voices ringing through the air. These two are more than just dragon and rider.
They are best freinds.
They share a soul.
And nothing, even being different species, can tear them apart.

(Ooh, I was wondering what that was! A wing suit is awesome :D Also, I especially love your writing here, that last part, woah.)
Sastrugi pauses, wings stiffening in shock as she notices the scavenger surging upward on manmade wings. Laughter rings through the air, joy glittering bright in their voice. There's a unity between the two as they fly, something unusual that stretches between them.
She doesn't understand it.
Still, the IceWing leads them on, glancing back over her shoulder as the two twirl, an inkling of curiosity gathering in her mind. "Do other scavengers use those?"

As Hakaishin glided around, Tiamat looked at the Icewing. *nope. Just him, as far as were aware. And hes a genius compared to most dragons! He made the armor im wearing, for moons sake!*
(I do not remember how to swear in WoF language lol)
Hakaishin grinned at the princess, before diving again toward the ground. At the last second, he spread out his limbs and straightened out before rocketing back into the sky, cheering. Tiamat grinned, watching. *he is more than just a scavenger. Hes my best freind. He understands me. We can communicate,for crying out loud!*

(Honestly, I don't either haha.)
Ah, what a strange pair. Smart it seems, and strong too, but strange. They're something Sastrugi can respect as a warrior, but something she's wary of as a protecter. Especially with their casual disregard of kingdom boundaries.
"We won't separate you," she says, "not for the check-in and certainly not after. We don't get many... visitors, but we have the ability to treat them kindly."
The palace's spires crests over the horizon, shards of blue glistening against the greying sky.

Sastrugi thinks that she may like to see the coral reefs one day if they're so beautiful. She brushes the fleeting fancy aside as Tiamat speaks, dark eyes flickering towards him pensively.
There's a lot she could say about herself, but which parts are important? What would matter to an outsider with no knowledge of her tribe's inner workings?
"I spend most of my days training as a warrior," Sastrugi says. "For me, that's mainly unarmed drills and sparring, with hunts and expeditions mixed in for practice."
"Every few days or so, I also have classes for literature, history, philosophy, and the like."
She pauses, wings fluttering as she slows down with the glittering city nearing. A pair of guards and a leading official stand nearby, conversing, and she dips her head in greeting.
Toward the IceWing with a single chain loop wrapped around her neck, she says, "I met a pair of travelers along our border. Would it be possible to register them as travelers?"

Tiamat nodded, listening to her speak and remembering what she mentioned.
Then when the entourage showed up, he lowered his head in respect. Hakaishin frowned and put a hand on the handle of the metal claw on his back, but Tiamat growled softly and the scavenger relented and lowered his head in respect.
(Can you bring Tiamat and Hakaishin to the king and queen and other royal siblings? I have an idea.
Mainly blowing their minds with Hakaishins introduction.)
