She keeps petting him, softly humming a tune to herself. It's unfamiliar and doesn't seem to be meant for anybody in particular, but she has a nice singing voice and the melody is pretty.

It's a simple but varied melody, in a strange key and with a strange tempo. It's immensely foreign to him, but it's beautiful.
