I go closer to look at what the shops are selling.

There was a shop selling food. (I'm just going to let you improvise on what you buy from there) and animal food. Purloin trotted happily behind you, getting strange looks from citizens

Zilla bought enough jerky, dried fruit, and flatbread to last a week.
She winced at the attention Purloin got. Hopefully the savicorn would have blended in with the animals. That was apparently not the case. She also didn't know what Purloin ate, mainly whether she was carnivore, herbivore, or both. Purloin had eaten bread before and did resemble a deer or skunk... It would be nice to know if she could just eat wayside plants.
Going to a less crowded place, she bent down to look at Purloin.
"Can you understand me?" It felt kinda silly to talk to an animal, but then again, this wasn't just an animal. She also apparently had magic; a fact she was still trying to wrap her head around.

Purloin trotted around happily, loving the attention. She tilted her head at you. her voice was elegant and lower than you'd expect in your mind it kind of echoed, my English is poor, but I can understand most of what you say.
