He watched the other boy in confusion. "I'm the apologizing jerk, and then I say thank you since you said it was fine. But the jerk doesn't get a thank you, I'm the jerk." He shrugged. "I'm supposed to act stupid, then feel bad and then say sorry."

Carter started laughing, like going into a full blown laughing fit. Once he finally calmed down he looked at Kris's eyes, his heart starting to beat fast again.
"Your not a jerk, if you where then why would you be here now in this journey, helping me? Jerk's don't do that, jerk's don't take knives for people and jerk's defiantly don't have people who fall for them," Carter smiled nervously as he realized he liked Kris and being the stupid idiot he was he kissed Kris, straight on the lips.

He blinked twice, expression shifting to confusion. This type of event didn't happen to the jerk, but he'd always taken himself into the role of playing as the jerk in this play that we call life. He didn't know how to play the part as the recipient lover, so he sorta...was just there. Confused at the kiss. ' I think I have my character roles mixed up.' He thought.

Carter pulled away, realizing what he had done. He pulled away, his eyes going wide and his cheeks going red with embarrassment.
"I should get check on the others," He pushed himself away from Kris and fled towards the jungle, feeling hurt as a stray tear escaped from his watery eyes.
He hurried out of the tunnel, blinking as rain water fell from the sky, he should have known, he was in a jungle after all. He should have known he would mess up again, he always did. He ran into the jungle, getting up whenever he tripped, wanting to get far away from his mistakes. Of course you like boys and of course you have to fall in love with the one who doesn't like you back, he thought as he tripped again, this time he felt pain burst through his ankle, and of course I hurt my ankle.

He pulled to a stand, shoving that vile into a pocket. He wondered why Carter had taken a romance scene step and then a drama one, it was confusing. There wasn't enough scene change in between. Feeling a weird churning feeling in his chest, worry, he jogged off in Carters direction. He'd not said Kris couldn't come, he just said he was ganna check on the others. So he jogged along, bored again. He, once again, had that odd sway.

Carter lay on the ground for a second, reminding himself this was not a dream. His clothes where starting to get soaked, making him start to shiver. He could feel the ground stick to his skin, making him feel uncomfortable. He slowly got up, trying and failing to put any pressure on his ankle. There's no way things can get any worse then this, he thought crawling across the ground as he lay under a tree nearby, starting to shiver violently from the cold.

Not really knowing that he was feeling worried, he jogged along without any real emotion. But his expression turned to worry as the feeling increased because he soon, maybe a good while later, saw Carter under a tree. He didn't realize he was worried and so his thoughts didn't match what he didn't realize he was feeling. "Ey, Carter. Did you get lost or somethin'?" He asked as he came over, not realizing he probably should have said something softer to the sad boy.

Carter stared at shock at Kris, He came on all this way just to scold me, he thought with a sigh as he pulled himself up into a seated position, looking at Kris with dull eyes, trying to ignore the pain in his ankle.
"Maybe I did," He snapped before scolding himself silently, "I'm sorry, I just feel like everything goes wrong around me. It's not fair of me to get hurt because you don't like me back, I shouldn't even have kissed you in the first place," He buried his face in his hands, not crying but trying to hide how mad he was at himself.

Siren
Siren watches silently, wondering about her own family, what they might be doing.

Now Kris was very confused, coming over and sitting besides Carter. He thought maybe he should give Carter some space so sat a foot away. "Hey, you're the good guy. You don't say sorry. And I don't understand what you mean by like, I like you. You're a nice person, you're definitely not on my baddies list for sure."
