The path lead to a pair of solid metal sliding doors, the were open. Beyond that, a road leading straight.

You reached a pair of crooked iron gates, one of then hanging off of its hinges, allowing you into the garden beyond. The garden didn't look any better, it was full of dead weeds and other withered plants. In the center of the place, there was a broken down mansion that had seen better days.

So do you head down the road as the coachman directed or do you go to one of the other houses in the other direction? Your post was kind of ambiguous.
(sorry about that my mind was elsewhere at that moment, the way the coachman directed)

The doors were broken down, but they were closed, although there was a small gap between them. Nothing else of interest.

Right, that's fine ^-^
You head down the road, stumbling forwards in the darkness. Eventually you make it to a place where you can barely see a smaller road diverging left off of the main road that continues forwards.

Tantei almost missed the small path, the darkness was really making this worse. Swallowing his fear he journeys further down the path.

The path leads you far left, to a place surrounded by a stone wall, parts of it made of iron fence. There was a hole, so you entered easily. Inside, rows and rows of stone slabs were erected, ruins of an old building in the center. Upon closer inspection of the slabs, they were gravestones, you notice.

This place is interesting indeed, why must there be stone walls like this, most people would just stick with fences, interesting. Noticing a small hole Tantei peeps through it. An ancient structure stands in t he middle with rows of stones around it. Peering a tad bit closer those weren't just stones, but grave stones. Now his heart was definitely rattling in his rib cage. Was this a good idea, if the child was lost here, could they have already ended up under a stone. Shaking off his sense of paranoia, he should really get a closer look, is there a way in?

You entered through the hole. The ruins were of a church, there were still the remains of rows of seats and the altar. Obviously, this was not the mansion mentioned in the letter you received about the missing child.
