Jack gave him a wink and a thumbs up.

Ray smiles at Jack.
Elias questions, "So, where have I seen you before? I feel like I know you from something."
Ray shrugs, "I live around here and you might have seen me in the market or climbing trees or something."
Elias looks skeptical that that was the only place he'd seen them.

Jack didn't interject anything, just listened and trusting Ray to know how to handle this.

Elias opens his mouth to say something, but Ray correctly guesses what he's about to say and interrupts. "How about, instead of saying 'right' say 'of course' or 'correct' or 'got it' or 'exactly' or something to that extent."
Elias waves it aside with a 'right' but after Ray begins to repeat themself, Elias says 'of course' to stop him.
Ray smiles, "Bingo!" Then they motion for Elias to continue.
Elias rolls his eyes, "I feel like I recognize you from somewhere else, something that happened last night."
"Oh, was there a dance? I'm honored to remind you of your dance partner." Ray jokes around.
"If anything, you'd be the jester." Elias deadpans. Ray pauses a moment before bursting into laughter.
"Haven't heard that before. I should be more used to that, though, shouldn't I?" Ray chuckles.
"Right. Anyways, there wasn't a dance. It was a robbery. We got notified when the thief triggered-"
"Excuse me? I'm much to good at my job to trigger some trap." Ray says, feeling a bit offended that someone would suggest that. Unfortunately, they hadn't thought things through. The next moment their arms are twisted painfully behind their back and Elias is grinning triumphantly.
Elias smiles slyly at Jack. "Now I'm wondering why you didn't figure it out sooner." Ray tries to twist out of Elias' grip, but the guy seemed to have an iron fist.
Sam wonders what's happening and comes over to see. Ryan complains for a moment before following her.

Jack was shocked, but acted calmly. "Elias, do you really think a thief would be an idiot enough to show his face here again?" He said, giving his friend a look.

"It seems this thief was idiotic enough." Elias returns. Ray glares.
"I'm not an idiot. I'm very smart. I figured out... things." Ray cuts themself off. They couldn't say they had figured out how to infiltrate the place and take all the treasure from the Treasury. They would ignore the fact that Jack helped them because they tended to forget others in their success because that's just the way they were.

"Well, Ray is rather intelegant. They are clearly willing to loyally fight, or they would not be here. Their heart isn't greedy, I do believe even you can see that." He said, gently putting a hand to Ray's shoulder to quietly tell him not to speak.

Sam tried to put puzzle pieces together. "So Ray stole something? Why would they do that?"
Elias shrugs, "For some gain. It doesn't matter what they're doing now. Just matters what they did. They stole, so they must receive the punishment. And, who knows, Ray might just using this to get close so they can assassinate the prince of this kingdom too."
Ray pauses. "Nobody would know I killed the prince of the opposing kingdom... unless they were working with them." Might as well own that fact. In a way, Ray had killed the prince, but somewhere, buried deep deep inside, he was still there.
It was Elias' turn to try and figure out an excuse.
Sam was still trying to wrap her head around the fact Ray had killed a prince before.

"If it matters so much of what he's done, then why don't you see that he hasn't done it?" Jack said before he could figure out an excuse. "I was there, right behind the thief. Ray reminds me nothing of him."

"You must be working with him, as I suspected. It's kind of hard to miss the bright blue hair of the thief." Elias roughly ruffles Ray's hair just to prove a point. Ray bristles.
