"Solarflare," she called confused.
(They know each other, right?)

(Yeah.)
The answer took a while, "Ow-ow-Owl? Is that you? Oh, thank goodness! Only a few survived...what ever that attack was...Who's this?" Solarflare was instantly on guard again.

Eclipse had frozen at the name. "S-...Solarflare?" It came out in nearly less than a whisper, so of course Solarflare hadn't actually heard it.

Owl smiled "It is me and this is my mate Eclipse. What happened?"

"Eclipse? Huh, coulda sworn I've heard it somewhere. Must be a common name, no offence." Solarflare trotted back into the shadows. "Well, the rest of the actual good food, not rotting food, is down here a tiny bit."

Eclipse shuddered as the edge of his mind nagged him. He had heard that, 'common name', before...somewhere. Right now he was drawing a blank, and he blamed it on his empty stomach. "Huh, yeah. Let's eat," he said absentmindedly.

"Are you okay," She asked concerned sniffing Solarflare. She followed him, extremely confused at what was going on.

"Me?" Eclipse nodded. "Yeah, think so. Just I was trying to think of something when it escaped me."

Owl pressed herself against Eclipse.
"Solarflare, are you ok?"

"Other than being utterly exhausted? Um, yeah, I think so. Not many of us survived, so...Grief hits some harder than others. Mountain is trying to kill himself some days...as if that would help. Falcon is starving herself to death. I wish they would stop. Don't they know that the more numbers we are the stronger we get and that we shouldn't get all mopey because," her voice broke here, "someone we really cared about died?"

"Well...There is a thing called mourning, but...It's been a full *insert time exchange, at least a day* now. I would have thought they would have more sense. Also, Moonshadow died." Solarflare paused, and then continued. Moonshadow had been the eldest wolf there, and had died just a few minutes earlier. "The whole pack thought the world was going to end. It's been...rough."

(Made up random wolves for this.)

Owl opened her eyes wide in shock, "what happened to all the prey?"

"Most has become rotten, even the prey you caught yesterday. Some wolf managed to catch a rabbit before the thing took it a few hours ago, but the rabbit is now infected, and," her voice broke again. "And Quake is getting sicker every second. More...more wild, crazy. I wish i could help, but all I seem to be able to do is guard and hand out the portions. Everyone is trying their best, I know, but it still doesn't help." Solarflare sighed a long, weary sigh.

(Solarflare is Quake's adopted sister, 'so they used to be best buddies, but now the infection is making the wolf go crazy, so now...I guess they aren't. Solarflare wishes she could find out why.' (Sorry for my horrid mixed up version of 'Do you want to build a snowman'(sister was playing it on her tablet xp) and singing))
