Quake was getting closer to him now and his friends had not returned yet. Veshch knew if he stayed he would die, but what of his friends? He couldn't leave them to die. He stood slowly and turned to face Quake. "Howlite, if you can somehow hear this just know that no matter what happens to me you need to keep Twister safe." He said loudly hoping the spider wolf would hear. "Come at me! I'm over here!" He yelled at Quake before running in the opposite direction of Howlite and Twister. Quake roared and followed.

Howlites's ears perked, picking up Veshch telling him to keep Twister safe. "Okay Veshch!!" He shouted. The words bounced around the walls and made their way out. "There was something up there! It looked like a dinosaur but I didn't get a good look at it."

"Oh! I hope Veshch would be okay out there!" She ran beside him, frowning at this.Twist lifted her tail up as she kept her pace with Howlite. She felt nervous now that there's a big creature out there wanting to eat them. She didn't slow down, but she let her eyes adjust to the darkness of the cave so she could see her surrounding. "I hope it doesn't come to cave, if it does, we'll have to figure a way out...."

How could something that big be faster than him? Veshch found it hard to keep the distance between him and the monster. He stumbled nearly falling yet managed to keep himself on his feet. Quake roared again and swatted at Veshch, his claws barely missed the creatures hind quarters. They were coming up on a cliff, one that the river flowed off of. There was no other choice, he had to do something. There were a few rocks in the middle of the river, and some small ones leading to them. Veshch carefully jumped to the closest one to the bank then to the next until he was a good ways from Quake. The rocks where dangerously close to the edge of the falls, but it was part of the plan for them to be. Quake stopped at the edge of the river before putting a foot slowly into the water and wading out to try and catch Veshch. He got about halfway before the water got too deep for him to safely cross, so he stood there. His weight was too much for the thin rock below to take and slowly it gave way sending Quake over the edge. Veshch watched as the monster was swiped away from them, they were safe now. He walked to the edge of the rock he was staying on but the thing jerked some as he did. It was falling as well, it was going to take him off the edge like the others did with Quake. He looked up for a moment and looked at the cave near the bank of the river. "Keep her safe." He whispered knowing that the spider wolf could not hear him. He stood there as the rock turned and went over the edge taking him with it and sending them crashing into the deep water below the waterfall.

Howlite nodded. "If it ends in a cave, we're done for." he remarked. Howlite stopped running in a large room with a high roof,"I think we are safe in here. If we aren't, then I don't know what else to do.."

out of character: Not sure. It sounded like Veshch just died?

Twister looked up as they entered the large room. She skid to a stop, turning to face the entrance which they had came. She panted a bit, but her ears flicked forward before gazing over to him. "Hopefully, it won't come here..." She sat down with her tail resting around her. Her ears twitched a bit before getting up to explore the large room.

(I'm sorry but I can't tell you, he might be dead, he might not be.)

Quake roared as he climbed onto the shore. The dirty little rat, it tricked him! He stomped his foot some and scanned the water. It was dead now though, killed by its own trap. He snorted and turned away from the scene walking off into the woods away from the cave. He roared in the distance, more or less telling Howlyand Twister that he was leaving.

Howlite drooped the half-fish he was carrying, "You want some before we explore down that shaft? It Might be small, but it will do something." Howlite shrugged and brought the fish with him down the shaft,"Coming?" He began going down the shaft with his night-vision that he didn't even know he had. It felt like he had been walking for hours, until he came upon a clear lake, like the one they lived at. "Twister look! It has fish and kelp! We will be able to eat and help me swim! We might even find that city thing again!"
