"Are you okay?" She asked after a pause

He didn't even care if she actually was worried or not. He just gave a stiff nod.

Electa blew out a breath. "So I guess I'd better go take a look." Though she knew it would be a miracle if she could actually tell what was wrong. She and Jake had both learned to drive when they were around ten, but either of them had ever been much good with engines. She popped the hood switch and got out of the car, immediately feeling the steamy Tennessee heat pressing down on her.

Vexin shifted a bit in the seat,arms wrapping around his torso as he stared down a bit. He chewed on his lower lip a bit as those black dyed tips dangled over his eyes,somehow a beautiful contrast against the teal of his eyes and blond of his hair.

The hood creaked as she opened it, she propped it on its stick and gazed down at the Mustang's innards. This thing should be in a museum. For lack of any other ideas, she checked the oil, wiping the dipstick off on the edge of her shirt. Big surprise, it was fine. Ditto for the water. Great. What now? Electa shoved her hands into her back pockets and glanced up the freeway, trying to remember how far the next town was.

Vexin tentatively got out of the car,standing and shaking his fair height out. He gently closed the door,trying to stay calm about the impressive heat,and walked over to Electa. "C-can I help? In some way at all?"

"Do you know anything about cars?" It wasn't in a rude tone for once.

"A g-good bit.My dad's a machanic and he used...to...well,I used t-to watch him." There was something wrong between him and his parents,wasn't there....Either way he nodded.

Electa took a step back, gesturing towards the car.
