Doc took a few steps back, hoping the increased distance would throw off the cat's aim.

Jen, at the threat, wasn't nearly as patient, raising her rifle level with the cat's torso, drawing a laser bead over its collarbone as she adjusted her aim.

"Jennette. Please."

"Like I said, Doc. You're wasting your time tryin' to talk sense into these things. I'm tired of you thinkin' you can understand them or they're all as smart as the rest of us. You could even train a circus monkey to hold a little dart gun."

Mirage
"Mirage flicks on the laser sight, training it just over Jen's jugular, and she said, "Lower the weapon, or I will knock you out. And, no, we aren't stupid. You humans and your stupid prejudices get on my nerves. And, I've been trained to handle any weapon well. You can't throw my aim off."

Jen wasn't the least bit concerned as long as her guard armor remained intact. Her head and neck still remained well protected and concealed. She wore a sadistic grin just under her helmet as she fired a shot into the cat.

Doc startled, covered his antennae at the sudden, loud spat of gunfire as his hearing rang.

Mirage had sensed Jen's finger tighten, and had moved before the round fired, sending a dart into one of the shoulder joints of Jen's armor..

" Don't touch that plant right there."
She pointed at a three leaf plant

Jen wasn't too sure how this freak had just dodged a literal bullet, but she wasn't going to suffer lightly through these games.
She ripped the dart out of the shoulder pad of her armor, chucking it to the ground, as she threw the rifle into Doc's hands.

"So you got a mouth, don't ya? I'll knock it right off your stupid face if I have to." She charged at the cat as quickly as she could manage to keep traction in the winter snow.

Doc just barely caught the rifle as his sense of hearing returned in time to hear Jen's voice. Fantastic. He stared at the gun expectantly, not really quite sure what to do at this point.

Mirage
'Perfect,' Mirage thought as Jen charged. Just before being hit, Mirage simply wasn't there.

Jen skidded to a stop in her tracks, growling under her breath. Yeah, definitely not paid enough for this. She kept her guard up, even
now having lost sight of the cat.

Jen's knife was missing, too.
