Ignotia stayed awake again, guarding the cave from potential intruders.

He remembered everything that happened since the migration from the Upper North. Every day had been a struggle for the entire pack. Not only was every pack member starving, but they had been incredibly irritable as well. The beatings he'd gotten from them in that time had been borderline fatal, and often required Lunarius to break them up.

Desdemona had asked why he was happy without an apology. If Lunarius had apologized, that would have meant he regretted his decision of saving Ignotia and, by extension, loving him. How could he possibly hate the only person who had ever given him any affection?

Uru thought for a second. "I think if there are females, they might gain my Ice and male might gain your shadow, but there could be a mix up too.... like two powers...." she said. She then chuckled. "My father had Shadow powers, and yet my mother was of the Light, and i gained Ice." she said. "I think it depends on personality." she said.

"It would seem like it." Anubis said laying his head on her neck. "Where Canis' parents? It seems like all he has is Danu, was he an orphan?"

Swordfern rolled in the snow now like a puppy. Who said she could act a little immature from time to time?

Shadow got back from border patrol.

Finally the little demon of a pup was asleep with the dead rabbit in his maw still. He was so proud of himself, something the poor pup had never been before. It was a nice. Danu walked out of the den the wind guiding her down to the ever running River. It was nice to be able to be to herself for once. Then she smelled it. It was a wolf, though not from Lore or Whisper. Maybe if she sat there he, for she could smell it was a he, would move on.
"Is this spot taken?" A calm smooth voice asked from beside her. Danu jumped a bit as she got to her feet. "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you madam." His voice was strange, it. Was not like any she had heard before. It was an accent but what kind? Not from this country that was for sure. Danu scowled her ears back.
"I'm not a madam, not as a pup sitter I'm not." She growled. The male laughed a bit at this comment and sat down.
"Feisty aren't we?" Meeko smiled at her wrapping his tail around her leg. "You smell of a pack, there is one near here yes?"
"There is and we are not tolerating outsiders!" Danu barked. The male simply laughed again, this time for a bit longer.
"Such a pretty flower to have such a bitter smell." He complemented. Danu's ears perked up a bit at this her face growing hot. No one had said anything like that to her before. "Do you care to sit with me?" As asked she did. "And what is the nightingale's name?" Nightingale?! Such poetry! Danu blushed a bit giggling. He had such a way with words.
"Danu."
"A beautiful name for a sweet wolf like you. I am Meeko, the wolf hybrid." A hybrid?! That only made her like him a bit more. He was brave for coming this close to a wolf den even if he wasn't a full wolf.
"A wolf dog...I've never understood quiet how that worked." Danu said a bit shy. Meeko again smiled and laughed.
"Same as wolves have pups though in my case it was not of love, but man. They wanted me for fights so they bred me. I was the only one to survive."
"I'm very sorry to hear that." Danu wasn't sure what to say really other than that. He had just opened up to her like that, it was strange. He already trusted her, yet she didn't trust him at all. The mention of fights gave her a mental image of him. Her image was all mangled and torn, this made her shutter.
"No need ma'am, I can feel sorry for myself but thank you for offering." Meeko stood then. "It was nice to actually talk to someone for once, for that I thank you. Who knows maybe I'll see you around." For once Danu's eyes could see, faintly but she could see the male for a second before he trotted away. How had he done that?! It frightened her, causing her to turn and run away. She returned to the nursery the male still on her mind as she laid down next to Canis. Her eyes closed and she fell asleep.

Uru nodded. "Yeah, i think Canis is orphaned, that is why i took him in to the pack." she said softly. She lifted her head. "Would you help me up, my love? I think i am able to walk again." she said softly, puting a front paw underneath her and sitting up.

(Oh i'm sorry to say, Hawkeye, but your male can't be mates with your female, it's against rule number 9.)
