Bradyn nodded. "Yeah. He tried, anyway," he murmured, glancing back into the house at his mother.

The man nods and says, "Well I'm glad. But you need to stay quiet about how your mother gets well and beat the sickness, "

His face distorted with confusion. "What do you mean? Why would I do that? Won't people end up noticing one way or another?"

The man nods and says, "Yes but people would want to know how she was able to. And if they found out that an elf cured her... Well I think you know the answer to that,"

Bradyn nodded solemnly. "So...if she does get better...when she gets better...what do I say when people start to ask? Because we both know they will."

The man says, "Tell them it was a miracle by our God(or goddess, or deity) that we worship and had answeredyour prayer. They would rather believe that then it being the elf cured the sickness we weren't able to cure,"

He nodded slowly, reviewing the man's words a few times to work out his story. "Right, okay...." He lowered his voice. "What happens if the people somehow find out?" He asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

The man sighs and says, "That I hope would never come to be but if it does. I don't know. I would say run but news travel fast so no where is safe."

His lips pursed into a thin line. "Right. So there is no alternative plan. Good to know."

The man nods and says, "True but if it does. Maybe the elf could help again. There is a legend or myth about the kingdom. An elf was the adviser to the first king for many generations. But no one knows what happened to the elf. Some says that they left the world or went to explore the world. But the elf did promise to return again."

He chuckles and says, "But it's just an old legend for mothers to tell their choldern."
